First 10 games

First 10 games

Postby Redalert1970 » Tue Oct 03, 2023 9:03 pm

Played 10
Won 4
Drawn 3
Lost 3

For 12
Against 12

Points 15 / 30

Personally with all the new players we have had to gel together that's a decent start

5 points of automatic with a game in hand

Better than predicted but still can do better provided that DA is given funds in the next transfer window to bring in even more quality up front.

Can't complain with that, think we'd all have taken mid table at the start of the season so we're well on course for that. The quality in the squad along with a few tactical masterclasses could even see us push the playoff spots but I won't get too carried away with that just yet.

Happy with the points total so far - but really pleased with the performances. Apart from the dreadful display at Harrogate and a bit of a negative approach at Mansfield (timing of the opening goal killed us) I think we have looked very good from the games I have been able to attend, especially considering that from an attacking perspective this is a brand new team that will likely improve the more they play together. Hopefully we can push on in the next 10 fixtures.

I can't imagine that there are many fans who aren't happy with our efforts in the first 10 games.

Following the turmoil of the summer you've got to be pleased. I'm definitely looking up the table rather than down.

Don’t you mean our first two five game blocks?

Can see the side progressing, good points total so far in a very competitive League Two. Happy with that.

Very happy with 10 matches and 15 points . This ratio would equate to 69 points in a full season , just a little short of the play-offs.

October's fixtures a little less daunting than our first 10 so be nice to be well into the 20's with points come November.

As I've said above I am very happy with our league position so far. The only blemish is that while we have created a good number of chances we probably haven't converted as many as we should have. Derek often alludes to the number of chances created post match and even Mellon should have put away more goals considering the number of shots he's had.

Hopefully this will change this month :)

Poor against Mansfield.

Not great against Harrogate, referee got the sending off wrong, in my opinion, which directly led to our defeat.

Did okay against Gillingham, referee DEFINITELY got the sending off wrong, because if either he or the blind linesman had given the initial foul on Mellon, they would have been the ones going down to ten men, not us.

Of our three defeats, the ref had a huge hand in two of them.

The rest of the games, we've played well. I think this side will continue to develop together and we will get better. Good start generally.
