Really Positive Derek Interview!

Really Positive Derek Interview!

"I have a long term plan..."

Really positive interview, with Derek having a long term plan. Sounds like he's here for the long haul!

[Edit: Mind you, the bulls***ter said that, before buggering off at the first opportunity, although Derek has already proven himself to be far more honest]

Excellent from The King.

He even mentions the long term plan involves reaching the Championship.

Interesting interview. I think Derek realises the benefits of staying with morecambe. By supporting the owner and the board to sell these benefits and a positive vision, we might just break the logjam and get some investment. The championship isn't totally out of the question in the next five years. It would be great if Derek was here to steer us to it.

It certainly isn't a case of managing fans expectations! A bit different from what we used to get from Jimbo

Wow.....so much positivity from DA rather than the concerns about finances etc.

Has something dramatic changed over the last few days that has seen such a transformation in his interviews. If so maybe the club could tell us what has happened.....

Whatever has happened to make DA so upbeat and talking about his big plans then it's excellent.

I'm still concerned about Jason's plans going forward and still believe that a new owner will provide DA with the finances needed to push on.

OR has a new owner come forward and that is why DA sounds so upbeat..... :?: :?: :?:

Derek seems to be the lone voice fighting for the club these days. We should all get behind him because he is the one person that stands between us and Non League. He has got the players behind him and now we all need to unite behind him.

I loved his interview, he has passion and ambition for this club. Gone are the dark days of talk of giving Jim 6 year contracts and being told to be happy in league 2 by the Jim-ites.

Make us dream Derek the King!

I'm not ashamed to admit that I got it so badly wrong last season.

DA is a miracle worker on such a small budget BUT lets not forget the input of his recruitment advisor....whose name escapes me a the the moment... :( :( :(

Greg Strong , although he isn't on the OWS Who's Who. It has now been updated with Ged on as First Team Coach etc and John Mac as Assistant Manager.

I noticed Greg on one of the Twitter vids the other week. It looked like he had been part of training with the squad, he does have a pro license.

Goole, on a Tuesday night. Mist rolling in off the river. The game probably should have been abandoned, as we couldn't see the other side of the pitch, so how could the linesman, but somehow it got finished (probably because no-one wanted to have to do it all again!)

Mustn't forget Great Harwood.....all grounds visited in the pouring rain..no cover....but the Bovril compensated for the lack of facilities.

Went to Frickly on a Tuesday night in my dad's Visionhire van. It had a Morecambe phone number on it. when we came out from the game, their thugs had smashed the headlights. He had to drive back to Morecambe with no lights. We'd lost too. What would they have done if we'd won? :o  :o

I can remember being at Emley (horrible place to visit at the best of times) when another fan, also now passed away sadly, got into a punch up with the then Chairman in the bar after the game.

Good to see Derek back to his 'prick'ly self! He's at his absolute best when he is fired up - and it is great to see after a couple of his recent comments. I think he really does enjoy working here even with all the BS he has to put up with off the field; its very hands on which is not for everybody - but I get the impression that he excels in that environment.

When you see people questioning his ability to manage the club, calling for him to go when results don't quite match the expectations he has given us, or meeting the standards that he has significantly raised.... you honestly just have to laugh!

He is the best manager we have ever had IMO, and has once again assembled a young hungry team on a shoestring budget that is more than competitive at this level. We are lucky to have him as our manager.

When it comes to the E-I-E-I-E-I-O chant, we should change the words to:

E-I-E-I-E-I-O
Up the Football League we go
When we win promotion
This is what we'll sing
We are Morecambe, We are Morecambe
Derek is our KING!

Mostly because sing and king rhyme, but also because it is factually correct. You're welcome.
Hello! Hello! We are the Morecambe boys!

You were lucky! There were accounts of them attacking folk with pit props back in the day. I did a night match there once. Can’t remember the score but it was a grim dump!

Derek is the best manager bar none we have ever had and my memory goes back over 50 years now. He can take kids and turn them into proper EFL players. Started this season with a squad of 6! From there he is moulding a half decent team. Long live the king!

Has anyone listened to The King's latest interview with Dan Jewell of Radio Lanc's which is on our OWS.

It lasts nearly 11 Minutes and as usual is excellent from Derek and see if anyone thinks that Derek is hinting about the ownership issue being resolved soon :?: :?:
