Gillingham (A) Predictions

Gillingham (A) Predictions

Postby AndyReifman » Sat Sep 02, 2023 6:11 pm

We're off next week due to having enough players away for international break! Well done to Eli, JJ, Jacob, and Adam.

After that we're off to Gillingham (or is it pronounced Gillingham) to face off against the Gills, who find themselves all the way up in 3rd! But could of course be as low as 9th when we play them (I think I've done those maths correctly)

Putting this up early as I've got a busy 2 weeks coming up, but I'll try to remember to bump it next week for anyone who might miss it.

Myself, I'm going for a 0-2 win.

Gills great start gone wrong, so we have to take our home form away otherwise they will punish us, having said that I’m regretfully going 2-1 to the Gills. Sorry!!

Don't be sorry BB. You got the last 2 predictions wrong so you're probably doing us all a favour. ;)

Black morse thanks for that but I am glad I’m getting it wrong and that’s down to the boss and the lads. I am second in the super six league I’m in and have won £300 over the last six yrs. Maybe I should have more faith! Let’s see how my prediction goes on the Gill’s game and I will be glad to get it wrong once again.

Gillingham won their first four League games, without conceding a goal. Then lost their next two League games without scoring. I'll go for a 0-1 and an end to our dismal away days, but I may change it if Gillingham look like they are back to winning ways at the weekend!

Away form needs to improve but I don't see it happening in this one. 3-1 Gills

If we can go to Gillingham and get a result I think that would be a real positive. If we can get a win, it would be a real statement IMO about the prospects for our season: 5 previous visits to Kent have yielded one draw and four defeats (one of them a 5-0 thumping); we've never won at Priestfield Stadium and only beaten the Gills once in 10 league meetings.

We do need to improve our away performances, but we can't keep looking too far backwards; our record in League One away from home should have little bearing on how we perform at this level. We need to be positive on and off the field.

Will be a very interesting game next week...

Gillingham gone top of the league today (15pts from 21pts) - scored 5 conceded 5

They have won 5 games 1 - 0 so if we can score 1st you just never know !!!!

I know we have a chance of getting something out of this one but it worries me that we have not had a game this weekend and I seem to recollect that when that happens we usually lose our winning ways. The odds have got to be in Gillingham's favour as they are top of the league.

2-0 loss I'm afraid :(

As I'm going to be there, and it seems the Gillingham fans have been on their manager's back despite being at the top of the table, I'm going for an optimistic Gillingham 0-2 Morecambe.
