Early days yet

Early days yet

Too early to call but questions as to when will we see Stokes given some game time and Charlie Brown up front.... :?: :?: :?:

Certainly need some experience up front so hopefully the 2 new players we are after will be experienced in midfield and up front.

Wasn't expecting a good result but NOT a poor and gutless performance as reported.

Wonder if DA will acknowledge just how poor we have been as he is honest usually... :?: :?: :?:

Will not be any easier on Tuesday.....

Let's not forget that our team has a lot of new faces who have only been together for a few weeks and as yet don't know each others strengths and weaknesses.

We are up against teams who have been together for a number of seasons. Mansfield as an example.

Not dismissing how poor we've been today but putting it in context of playing as a team for months then it was always going to be difficult.

Let's wait and see who DA brings in and judge our team after 10 games.

Survival in EFL2 is the goal although a middle table position would be ideal and a promotion push would be in dream land.

Early days to write us off..... :!: :!: :!:

I agree with you on this RR and I appreciate Mansfield are a good side but if that's how were going to play away from this season, then what's the point?

What the hell do some fans expect, this is almost a brand new squad that has only been together for about 6 weeks if that. it takes time to build a match day team in which everybody knows their role.... :?: :?: :?:

Let's judge after 10 games.

We all know the problems DA has had and that he is on a hiding to nothing.

I'm usually one of the first to have a pop at him but even I'm prepared to give him time to get it right.

As for the Mansfield game and tactics. They have been together for a few seasons and so it proved. OK we could have made a bit more of a game of it but this it's only the 3rd competitive game our lads have played as a unit and they are still learning their roles in the team on matchday.

I wrote this below on Saturday after the game, and I still believe it. It’s far too early to judge our team yet.

Well and truly beaten. How it was only three I don’t know, perhaps some credit to the defence. But I think that we have the makings of a team that will compete well in this league. A few more games and chance to gel together and the results will come our way.

Agreed , we have a new left back who may start tomorrow to improve things.

An experienced striker rather than another young Loanee would be good although the cost is the problem. I was hoping for James Wilson but he signed a new short term deal at Port Vale so that's him out of the equation until January.

Oumar Niasse is still without a club. I wouldn't mind seeing him come back.

So how did that work out then?

Yes , he improved as he got fitter and scored a good goal against Lincoln City.

The King knows about him so maybe he could join us again.

Agree, I'd have no problems bringing Niasse back BUT would fitness be an issue like last time :?:

He hasn't I would imagine had a preseason of training and getting match fit.

Ideally we need someone to come in and go from the off rather than have to build up fitness over the weeks.

Tough call for DA but surely he's got someone in mind to take some of the load off our young forwards especially as I doubt that they collectively could handle game after game week in week out over a full EFL2 season.
