An area for improvement

An area for improvement

Our corner routine leaves a lot to be desired.

As last season Tuesday saw too many corners over hit and going out of play on the opposite side.

Our goals tally from corners last season wasn't good by any means.

The best corners last season where taken by one of the late loan players, but DA I'm sure will work on them in the coming weeks....hopefully.

Corners were full of anticipation in the days of Bentley and Moose

Especially when taken by Michael Twiss. There was a match against Chester when we scored from about 4 of his corners in one game.

It may sound weird and simplistic but those taken from the Main stand/Home end corner are unpredictable anyway. The ball regularly moves off the spot when any player tries to set up because of the wind blowing through that corner.

Maybe we were spoilt with Jim and the moose but it’s felt like we’ve been hopeless at set pieces ever since then - corners especially.

Yup. Can't remember scoring many free kicks last season and not a single penalty

I've said for years, we need to understand the wind pattern and how it affects corners. It frequently blows in different directions in all four corners, at the same time.

So how did that work out then?
