All yesterdays trialists have experience which would fill the current lack of numbers in our squad.

Both Kieran Agard and Louis Moult are established strikers having had a number of clubs in both EFL1 and 2 over the years.

Kieran is 33 years old whilst Louis is 31 so both are experienced although Louis I believe has a greater goal scoring record than Kieran. DA will know what is needed so we have to trust his judgement in recruitment matters.

Hopefully with a few loan additions DA can assemble a squad that is capable of holding its own in EFL2 which will no doubt be a difficult league in which to prosper.

Understand that James Wilson formerly of Salford and Port Vale has been mentioned as being of interest to DA. For me he would be ideal over the above mentioned strikers but as we are accustomed to by now, money may be an issue.... :(

James Wilson was training at Fleetwood last week but suffered an injury which the Port Vale fans say is one of the problems with him.

I think the fact that we are only able to offer 1 year contracts restricts the pool of players we are fishing in to over 30's like Agard and Moult and free agents.

Until this ownership issue is sorted we are in limbo and fortunate to have Derek in charge. I would imagine our local directors would like to grasp Jason warmly by the throat and tell him to sell his shares pronto !

Can't see any reason why Jason would not be trying his best to get the club sold as we are very unlikely to get back into League 1 soon (if ever!) Now that the soft drinks guy (not Tyson) is out of the way he must be talking to any interested party, if there is one/any!

Moult and Agard would be very very good signings

Lots of experience

Bring them both if at all possible

I certainly think Moult would give us something from reports I have heard.

Be interesting to see which of the triallists are at Haigh Avenue. I will be at that game having booked a seat in the stand.

The trialists from yesterday do all seem to be more experienced journeymen - with the possible exception of Davenport. The squad lacked a bit of experience last season so I wouldn’t mind seeing a couple of older heads come in.

An experienced centre forward in particular would be good, although I’d like a target man and I’m not sure that Moult or Agard fit the bill. I seem to remember that Jim tried to sign Agard and described him as ‘the fastest player in the division’ but at 33 will he still have his pace and if not, does he offer any other attributes?

And the rest! About ten players were out for meaningful lengths of time last season and the fact that we’ve already cancelled our first friendly because of injuries makes me really wary about signing anymore players with a record of injury.
