All too easy to critisise maybebetter if you came up with some suggestions of how to improve what you claim is a poor attempt at a supporters bar.... :?: :?: :?:

I well remember having a pint or 3 underneath the main stand at Christie Park. Now that WAS soulless.

Ok so the hurley flyer is bigger and cheaper. I still have never bought a pint in there. I don't often have time to drink pre or post match but when I do it's JBs. It's small but I guess you can also go upstairs post match too? I say spend whatever you can at the stadium on the last home game. It's not really about value for money but about supporting the club.

Of course it would be down to the owner(s) before any offer of a new contract could be on the table....but assuming that it fits DAs criteria then I could see him signing and then building a squad of HIS players.

Next season wherever we plough our trade could be interesting.

Assuming there are no new owners before the week after we play Exeter then a decision will have to be made about offering Derek a new contract , maybe with a proviso that in the event of the club sale going ahead that an improved contract be put on the table. He can then produce a retained and released list.

I would think it will have to be the local board members that make a decision on the manager. Del and Rodders shouldn't have any say IMHO.

The owners would normally have a very big say in who the manager is but in the present circumstances I can't see any reason why they should want to.

But it's not upto BerlinWaller to come up with ideas..we pay people at the club to do that.
As it stands we have a micropub as our home clubhouse. It's just pathetic!

When the club first moved, fans weren't allowed upstairs. I think this was a huge mistake, as 'cheap seats' fans could no longer see the MotM award. Now, upstairs is very quiet and quickly empty once the presentation has been made. It should be packed.

We sit in C2 and have access to the upstairs bar before and at half time yet the chap sat next to me isn't allowed access....barmy....you'd think they'd want to encourage as many as possible to spend a bob or two in the Local Choice Suite...

The bar is very poor with little space.
If the weather is fine I tend to go behind the goal early to have a pint, as you have a lot more room.

We have our lunch/tea virtually every game at the Hurley, sit at a dining table and eat food in front of a big screen, not a tiny one, whilst mingling with home and away fans.
Do hospitality when its £20, but you cant see those tv screens either.

Used to be quite a crowd of people in Local choice bar till they stopped folk including family and friends being allowed in. You now have 3 staff standing behind the bar after the game doing nowt cos everyone has cleared off and you can't hear the M.O.M. cos the screens pretty much seperate you from hospitality as well as the sound system not carrying.

Other than that .....
Enjoy yourself.... It is later than you think

I think the club made a big mistake when they changed the pricing etc on our promotion to L1. C1/C2 always used to be more expensive, not just for more central/better view, but also gave you access to the suite before the game and during half time. Block D was cheaper with no suite access, Block E even cheaper due to the poorer view and was designated the family stand.

After promotion, all those seats are now the same price and no one has right to the suite based on their seat, except for legacy ST holders who used to have C1/C2 seats.

Pre promotion, people were clearly happy to pay more for C1/C2, but now they don't have to. Seems bonkers to me - they effectively got a price reduction yet still retain suite access!

I do think we need to get back to the tiered pricing as it makes no sense to have some "prime" seats in C1/C2 "occupied" by cheap kiddie tickets when there'll have been full paying adults who' have liked those seats!

I personally think we need less tiering between fans. Ok, charge a few quid extra to sit down, maybe a couple of quid more for central seats. No restrictions though on bar access jn the stand and allow all fans to go upstairs post match.

The feedback from many is bigger screens is a big draw. Maybe the club can invest in a couple for JBs and have a live stream for MotM presentation?

Longer term, they could extend the bar into the ticket office, creating a second bar/function room. Ticket office could then be moved into the far corner.

Anyway, all blue sky ideas but for Lincoln, skip the hurley flyer and spend your money at MFC

I think you'll find the entrance to Blocks D & E between JB's and the ticket office.

All I was suggesting is that if you and others are unhappy about JB's and IF the club decided to make changes then maybe it would be appropriate for fans to put forward ideas of how to improve JBs.

I can just imagine the reaction of fans IF the club went ahead with changes without consulting those who use or would use JBs that didn't meet with the fans approval.

I was thinking the same thing. I am not sure how you could jig things about to create more space for a bigger bar and I think The Hurley Flyer have nailed it with the renovations they did a while back. We have a pretty big forecourt which could be used better but I think we have missed the boat. Martin Thomas said on a BBC Lancs piece that the club won't risk putting things on in case they don't work and cost the club money
It is understandable but the club will never grow if we let 3-5000 people leave at full time without the chance of spending any money.

Agree with the above....100%.

The club have to find ways to encourage more fans to use either JB's or the Local Choice Suite pre and more importantly post match.

The Local Choice Suite Bar is usual crammed at H/T and looks as though it is open to all with no restrictions.

As I've said elsewhere, I would have a one hour 'Happy Hour' in JB's directly after the game finishes, then another 'Happy Hour' starting in the upstairs bar, half an hour or so later. That would give time for people to leave, so not too many people meeting on the stairs, going in opposite directions, but the 'Happy Hour' would start in time for the MotM award, so encourage fans to come up. Have any live Premier League game on, or, get a local (cheap!) band to play. On the occasions when there is something else on that evening, where they need to prepare upstairs, have the MotM award in JB's.

I'd also examine the price of drinks generally. If the price of a pint is within about 10% of the Hurley Flyer etc, then people are more likely to stay behind. Much beyond that and the cost starts to become a bigger issue.

Make the 'experience' something that keeps fans back, and spending, win lose or draw.
