Just goes to show that financially Fleetwood are on a different planet to us. It's easy to view them as a very similar club to ourselves, but they are not! The Pilley family have invested over 20 million pounds since they took over, including building a state of the art training complex. Paying those sort of agents fees means they got CMG, Stockley and Morrison in January and we got an untried youngster from Burnley. Just shows what we are up against and in many respects it's a minor miracle we are in EFL 1.

All players have agents now, including many in non league. They all chase the money and for many that's the be all and end all because it's a short career! Sad fact but if you don't grease the agents palm with mega bucks you are highly unlikely to get the quality players.

Fleetwood only survive because their owner has his Energy business based at their stadium and is therefore able to invest funds in the stadium and players by using his companies to provide funding as needed.

There have been rumours doing the rounds for years about players being employed by his companies.....

It has gone on for years, Justin Jackson was paid via a boot deal with Umbro when he returned from Notts County

Explains why Stockton's agent was so keen on him to move anywhere, regardless of whether it was good for his career or not.

So how did that work out then?

His agent didn't make him sulk all season and play below what he's capable of!
