I don't think Tyson Fury was ever a possible owner.

The potential owner they've touted does not fill me with confidence at all.

The investment company he is head of has almost no online presence. The website is just a blank screen. https://sarbcapital.com/

The instagram has no posts and 14 followers
https://www.instagram.com/sarbcapital/?hl=en

Linkedin not very promising either
https://uk.linkedin.com/company/vitanic ... nt-company

Not looked into his drink business yet but his investment company seems basically made up.

While I was looking at his Instagram, his followers went from 14 to over 12,000 in space of two minutes
Edit: his personal instagram that is, not the Sarb Capital account

IF this turns out to be a similar repeat of the previous problems then the current owners have not done their utmost to ensure our continued survival and have gone for a quick return on their investment.

As has been said the interested party (parties) are no strangers to the Mazuma and have been at numerous games over the last months or so. I'd like to think that if the takeover happens that our current BoD will have a leading role to play in OUR club going forward BUT changes are bound to happen which could be bad news for certain off field individuals I suspect. :(

Just hope that the EFL does their bit in a professional manner and carry out all the necessary financial checks and decline the sale if there is even the slightest of concerns.

Just a pity that a local consortium of business people appears not to have come to the fore.

The locals, who aren’t daft, who have the wherewithal to put in an offer, I hear are baulking at paying silly money for the club. They wouldn’t pay the asking price from PMG and it’s almost 5 times that now apparently.
As for the Mail saying 20 million, :D London journalists, bloody clueless!

The problem is it isn't Locals who are selling their shareholding. It's out of the control of the board who are running the club now , Rod , Graham , Charlie , James and Ben.

Bond Investments may well have asked for £20 million for their shareholding. We don't know.

The club have issued a statement, saying it would be inappropriate to make a statement

The Club is aware of an article released today by the Daily Mail regarding a potential sale.
At this point, we are not in a position to comment as it would be inappropriate to do so.
Should any sale be completed, we will share this with supporters at the right time.

We know it isn’t locals selling it! Doh.
Bought for around a million, sat on it, try selling for 20 million in 4 years? Mmmm.

Somebody must have mentioned £20 million to the Mail. They get some great scoops.

If the Guardian reports it they won't be able to spell Morecambe !

Surely any potential buyer of an EFL1 club would have sought independent advice about the value of the club before paying what if true is an excessive amount for any EFL1 club.

The potential buyer sounds to have been very successful by hard work and I doubt he or they would be prepared to gamble a huge amount of money on any football club at our level in the current climate.

I’m either an accurate reader of the runes or a purveyor of doom. Whether it’s Lemos, Cala or the current owners I’ve only seen “businessmen” with sketchy backgrounds at best.

Unfortunately Mr Johal doesn’t look any different.

The Entrepreneur article quoted on here and Facebook highlights his ‘brilliant success’ at Vitanic Holdings and his ‘private equity’ business Sarb Capital. Yet both companies were formed less than a year ago.

https://find-and-update.company-informa ... ng-history
https://find-and-update.company-informa ... ng-history

There’s just no evidence of any trading history to justify this success.

Spread around there’s more companies.

Gajrela Ltd
https://find-and-update.company-informa ... ng-history
Sarb Capital
https://find-and-update.company-informa ... ng-history
Vitanic GB Partners - under threat of strike off
https://find-and-update.company-informa ... ng-history
JV Partners - under threat of strike off
https://find-and-update.company-informa ... ng-history
St John Recruitment - Company struck off
https://find-and-update.company-informa ... ng-history
Vokos Ltd
https://find-and-update.company-informa ... ng-history
Vitanic Ltd
https://find-and-update.company-informa ... ng-history
Sarb Contractors - Struck off at Companies House
https://find-and-update.company-informa ... ng-history
BMS Global
https://find-and-update.company-informa ... ng-history

Not a single one of these companies have ever filed any trading accounts of note and several have been struck off by Companies House.

The only company that has is Lovely Drinks - A company that has £1,000 in the bank and negative equity of £80,000
https://find-and-update.company-informa ... ng-history

I’m not doubting that Mr Johal may well be building a great business empire and is a “tycoon”, but there’s simply no evidence to back up that he has created the wealth to acquire and invest in a football club other than pure self-promotion.

The price will be a lot less than is being quoted, obviously ,but the owners arent going to give the club up without a sizeable profit , and the potential new owner will have have the funds......

I suspect panto season is upon us again.

I agree with Posh - this is concerning on the basis of the Daily Mail article: 20 year old business "Tycoon" (with no proof of wealth generated by his own business activity to date) to become youngest EFL owner... But we are basing this purely on the basis of a Daily Mail article/headline, hardly the most credible source.

Firstly, the Tyson Fury connection in the headline and picture is clearly clickbait for the story and has little relevance IMO - he has never had serious interest in buying the club as far as we are aware, other than a flippant throwaway comment on a talksport radio interview.

If this chap is part of a wealthy family that are investing into the club and he is fronting the consortium (not really the gist of the article at all), then good luck to them - hopefully such a relationship is mutually beneficial for all.

We will just have to be patient and wait for the "wise men" at the EFL to do their job properly for a change and make sure all is in order.

If it does go through I hope they have the good sense to leave the current board to run the club.

If Tyson Fury had bought the club it would have become a circus , you can imagine Jeff Stelling talking about "Tyson Fury's Morecambe" !

I was wondering if it was something to do with a family and he was just the front man.

Who was the Asian guy that got involved with Diageo? He and his family came good in the end and without them I doubt we would still be here, I wonder if we ever paid him back.

Unfortunately I don't have much confidence in the 'fit and proper' test the EFL uses and even less confidence in Del Boy and Rodney to sell to the right people. They will just want as much money as possible and won't care where it comes from.

Always optimistic but I get the feeling we have another turbulent period ahead of us. Where's my tin hat?

Agree with Wild Bill.....I don't have much confidence in the EFL being able to make a sound judgement when you look at other takeovers that have not gone smoothly.

I'm concerned that we could be controlled by a family who have little if any experience of owning a sporting club and that in their pursuit of success at any cost that our on field management teams could be like an ever changing routine that will see OUR club become a circus with the ring master changing at the whim of the owners.

Our BoD have done a magnificent job in stabilizing OUR club and it is worrying that all their hard work could be in jeopardy and their continued involvement lost and replaced by a new regime with little knowledge of OUR club and its proud tradition as a family....

This sale has all the hallmarks of previous attempted take overs that brought with them some bad publicity.

Worrying times ahead without question....

I think we all have to bear in mind that this is all currently speculation. More broadly though we are at risk of being sold to any old charlatan. It happened with PMG, even though he had genuine passion for the club, so much more likely now with Del Boy.

I hope the Trust is looking into how they can get involved should things take a turn for the worst.

So many people guessing what may or may not happen.
It could be good it could be awful.
It doesn't appear that there is a massive que of people willing to throw their money in our direction.
Whoever takes over is a risk and won't get Morecambe like we do, but we need someone to inject some funds.
