Shambolic today after half time:

The more shots a team has, the greater the likelihood that they'll 'get lucky'. We're not bottom because we're 'unlucky', we're bottom because we play with six defenders and have one [crap] shot on target. We're so defensive that we're under pressure for too long, even against poor sides, like Port Vale. Invite pressure, don't shoot, then we'll pretty certain to have more 'bad luck' than 'good luck'. The goal we conceded was because a defender had gone forward to try and score, and was then out of position when they broke. Yes, if it had gone in, we may have scabbed something, because Port Vale were pretty dire too, but Max Melbourne has scored two league goals in his career. Had we played with natural goal scorers, perhaps it would have been a goal?

I was dismayed that some of our number booed Derek yesterday. The bloke who really needs booing is too far away to hear them - at St Mirren. He left us in the you-know-what and then took two of our better players in the shape of Ayunga and the outstanding Carson. I think we've had it this season. But next year, Mr Adams will have his own squad in League Two - all the dead wood (and there's a hell of a lot of it at the Maz) will go. Derek knows how to get teams out of the division in the right direction. My biggest fear is that - if he goes - someone else may take us the other way. Remember Southend? Look at Jim's Rochdale now. That could be us if - with the ownership issues and all the other cash-flow problems preventing any changes in the squad currently are still unresolved - we also have somebody at the helm of the team who doesn't know what they're doing. Be careful what you wish for...
