Damage limitation on the goal difference now. Let's face it, it could have been SEVERAL more.

Thing is, these aren't the games we expect to pick points up from, but because we've failed so dismally against the other 'lower League One' sides, we now need to get unexpected points at places like this. Or, at minimum, HAVE A GO!!! It was so obvious that Plymouth would eventually get a gaol, yet we stuck with Stockton up on his own, everyone else defending. Since we went two up front we looked better (and as I write...)

GET IN! O'Connor!

I was thinking the same thing Danny - goal difference could be a big thing who knows

We just need to keep battling away

The crazy thing is we aren`t getting hammered (i know Plymouth have had loads of chances) but we are not losing 4 and 5

Ipswich (h) 1 - 2
Barnsley (h) 1 - 0
Portsmouth (h) 1 - 1
Derby (h) 1 - 1
Exeter (h) 1 - 1
Plymouth (a) 1 - 2

These are all very good teams and we are battling with them ... Maybe getting a fit Ash Hunter could be the spark we are missing no pressure

If you take away the 0 - 3 sheff wed , 0 - 4 mk dons and 0 - 3 peterbrough we have only conceded 23 goals in the other 18 games

I WILL STOP CLUTCHING AT STRAWS NOW !!!!

I've watched it back a few times now, that looks to me like a penalty for a foul on Stockton in the 94th minute. Two players slid in on him, he got the ball out, but then went down.

That said, we played a lot better once we started to attack. So for goodness sake, PLEASE let's attack at 0-0 rather than wait until we're losing. Stockton barely touched the ball until Phillips came on.

We were definitely better when we got players forward and took the game to them. The shame is that we had to go 2 goals down before we did it. That has been our failing this season, we don't leave a player on the halfway line to have an out ball, and the midfield players are too slow in moving out when an opposition attack breaks down. Ripley without doubt was the man of the match.

Plymouth had THIRTY-TWO shots on goal, which is the real problem, in my opinion.

More than one shot on goal, every three minutes?

One has to question DA's tactics of waiting for the opposition to take the lead before we start having a go at them.

This has been a failure all season and yet DA refuses to change his all too familiar game plan.

The opposition already know that by attacking us that we seem unable to respond and change from defending to attacking.

Unfortunately there appears little if no money for the coming transfer window and the sale of our club seems a lifetime away.

Yes they had 32 shots but only 13 on goal (5 blocked and 14 off target)

Still too many but we go again Boxing Day away at Port Vale

If we have any chance of staying up we need at least 6 points from them 4 games !!!

You're right. I reckon 46 points could keep us up. We need 3 wins out of these four games. Looking at those teams recent performances the home games are the key and we shouldbe in with a chance of winning them all :o

Did I watch a different game to our manager today ...

Derek just said in his interview that he was proud of the players and they went toe to toe with Plymouth

Plymouth were not as good as I was expecting. Our poor basic skills , a lack of pace in nearly all departments and a reluctance to play the ball more quickly, all contribute to the opposition feeling confident.
After a foray to the edge of their box, a defender hoofed into our half of the centre circle. Our defender did a mighty header which bounced about 7-8 yards outside of their box and into the goalies arms.None of our players even looked interested, too busy looking defensively. Justin Jackson where are you?
Also a few potential through balls were easily cut out. Has no-one got the skill to chip the ball over the defence? John Norman where are you? Although this strategy does depend on somebody fast playing the line.
Not too despondent after this display, just annoyed that too many players were not watching the off the ball players for their goals.

Earlier in the season I suggested giving O'Connor a run upfront, I still stand by this !

Onwards and hopefully upwards.

P.S. Many years ago we used to joke that our hero Wayne Curtis could trap a ball further than he could kick it. On todays performance his title could be in jeopardy.

I know we are in L1 now and have L1 standard players, but i often think to myself what our players from 20 years ago would do to improve on our situation

I thought the officials had good games yesterday until stoppage time when from my position behind the goal we looked to have a penalty. Stockton was manhandled and pushed over but referee Mr. Reeves bottled it in front of 14000 Plymouth fans! It was a gutsy performance by our lads and Plymouth had real quality in their number 11 and 17. Connor Ripley is proving to be one of the best keepers in League 1. Is it me or is the standard of refereeing declining season by season with a clear bias towards the "bigger teams".

The stats say they had 32 shots on goal.....if only we had 8 in game would be a change.... :o :o :o

What that suggests to me is that we give opposition too much space and time....
