I'm the opposite, I'm quietly confident. I have no insider information, but I wonder if this 'preparing for sale' means something is already in place, and we may not need to wait too long to hear more? Hopefully, people who are already closely involved, or previously were, will be coming forwards.

I think its good news.

The club is much more attractive to buyers than it was 4 years ago.

3,000 season tickets sold. Average crowds nearly 5,000. All the infrastructure that has been put in place.

Rod seemed very chipper on the podcast last night and didn't come across as a man who was too worried.

I wonder if we start to see a few more things pop up at companies house as things get moved around and maybe that charge the other day was two supporters trying to protect that land before it gets sold to anyone else.

I'm sure when one of the owners was on the podcast he said he talks regularly to Charlie about selling the club to him unless I miss heard.

Remaining hopeful that this could be the start of something better.

The owners were never in it for the long haul but to be fair we have certainly progressed.

The chance to take a small L1 club with a growing fanbase might appeal to someone. Must be more or less breaking even too, so as a business we are not in a bad place.

But if we are "breaking even", it's because the players wage budget is probably lowest of the league. Basically, we're living within our means, even if that means we can't actually afford the calibre of players we need to survive in League 1. Which isn't really a sustainable position. We're basically only breaking even because we're spending so little on players! So it's a kind of "manufactured" break even position rather than breaking even on a sustainable/survivable level.

Like I have always said how do Burton and Accy do it?

We actually have bigger crowds than them.

Jason said they talk regularly to the directors, including James and Charlie. In a different answer he said his dream was to sell on the club to James and Charlie, then it’d be in safe hands.

Ain’t going to be cheap so how’s about a consortium of benefactors who have the real interests of the club at heart. We know several who fit the bill and maybe have the finance available to make it work. That should be fantastic for the club going forward!

Wonder how much they want. I could always chip in £1 or maybe £10,000.

So could I Morse but I don’t think we’re at the point of being a fan owned club in the true sense of the word just yet. Maybe owned by just a few select fans would be ideal!

The time was always going to come when our club was seeking new owners.

In an ideal world the new owners should already have links with our club. Either current BoDs or those with sufficient financial resources to form a consortium.

I seriously hope that we can deter any candidates of the previous calibre of bidders who gave our club an unwanted media scrum.

I'd like to think that our current owners will ensure that they leave with new owner(s) who don't have a murky background but there are plenty of sharks out there who are capable of hiding their true intentions.

Fortunately as I understand it the land and club is held in a trust so any owner with the intention of using the land for any other purpose than football hopefully will be given a very wide birth.

Shows you how much I know..... as I thought that the piece of land that our former Directors owned was the piece that is currently surrounded by a metal fence and is due I understand to have a house and other buildings built on it....as and when the owner decides the time is right.

My only thought about this is the loss of the fixture board which is a shame and unless an agreement can be made with the land owner will not be replaced.

To Ryan all the best in your new position....now we have to find an able replacement to continue the excellent profile that Ryan has initiated.

Thanks to Graham for the update. Much appreciated.

The Cole section sounds like the club think Nixon and others have been involved which isn't surprising.

Be interesting to see how the club see the future for the land between The Hurley Flyer and the new housing estate that they have now re-purchased from Nigel and Graham.

Now that the club again own the Land between the Hurley Flyer and the new housing estate maybe the board could be put on there until it is decided what to do with that.
