Happy he has signed and look forward to seeing him produce more under Derek. Only scored in 3 games out of 40 last season, we need that to improve.

Goodness, Barry Roche and Aberdeen. My memory has been jogged. Not regarding Barry, but somebody else who became very close to the hearts of some Shrimps fans, not!! Barry Capaldi, who acutely wasn’t that bad a player, didn’t re-sign for Aberdeen as he was able to be in a financially better position signing for Morecambe. I seem to think he lived in the Birmingham area and that had a bearing on his decision. I actually felt that he was a player who had had a good career and seen a high level of professionalism at other clubs, but spoke his mind in an inappropriate manner, although he may not have been wrong!

I think he said he was travelling 4 hours to training only to do half an hours head tennis !

He had a very good long throw.

Crapaldi's differences with management was one thing, calling us a "pub team" is what particularly endeared him to the fans... ...not! Also, as I recall, before the season had even ended, talking about Vegas & Guinness?

Mentioned this when someone asked in the Connor Ripley thread - tbh, there was never anything concrete relating to any interest from Motherwell and definitely nothing from the reliable sports writers up here.

That's not to say he wasn't offered around but generally it was speculative at best and had all the hallmarks of an agent flying a kite and trying to get their client's name out there.

The story about him having signed came via a (now deleted) Tweet from an unverified account with a couple of hundred followers.

There was a vague mention in the Scottish Sun but again, all that actually said was that Graham Alexander was "aware" of the player rather than there being any actual interest:

"St Mirren boss Stephen Robinson signed Gnahoua for the Shrimps last term and is on the lookout for fresh talent up front.

Motherwell gaffer Graham Alexander is also aware of the 29-year-old from his time bossing down south.

It’s thought Morecambe have tried to tempt him to stay with a new deal while other SPFL Premiership sides are also believed to be keeping tabs."

From being somewhat negative about other signings of late....I'm actually buzzing about this news. Somehow I think DA can work wonders with this lad and get the best out of him, something that other managers appear not to have done.

DA to work magic once again.....

Hopefully a couple more in soon and for me at least our prospects for a better season could be looking a lot brighter.

Delighted... :D :D :D
