Describes himself as ‘loud’ and ‘a character’ which is something that we lacked in the team last season according to Robinson.

Derek didn't get on with Kev

Most saying he was awful at best ?
Perhaps L1 / L2 are his limits

Firstly, congrats on staying up.
We had Ripley on loan from Boro back in the 15/16 season, you may have noticed that a fair bit of the footage you used in the video that the club posted featured games he was playing for us (and Oldham where he was a Robinson signing during his short managerial spell there).
On the whole he was a decent keeper for us (we finished 5th the season he was with us). He was by no means in our top 5 of the past 15 years or whatever - Randolph, Ruddy, Carson, Gillespie and Kelly probably take those spots but equally he was nowhere near the worst and probably fits in the tier just below those 'keepers I mentioned (a few of whom were/are international level).
He was quite young when he was with us on loan (22) but it felt like he had enough about him to kick on. In terms of style he's was very different to someone like Carson but he's a good size and was capable of making big saves - a few stops were reminiscent to Schmeichel (Peter rather than Kasper) in so much as he'd use his size, make himself big.
Don't get me wrong I'm not suggesting he's on that level (if he was I doubt he'd have been out on loan to Motherwell or kicking his heels on the bench at Preston) but in terms of style, that seemed to be his vibe. He seemed like quite a big character and had a pretty good connection with the fans. Who knows whether it's changed much in the last 6 years.
As I say, he was a decent enough 'keeper for us and there's a fair chance he could do you a turn with a run of games.
All the best for the season coming.

Have you heard anything about Arthur signing for you ?

Other than an unverified Twitter account with a couple of hundred followers mentioning it, nah. Anything that I've read has seemed like an agent flying a kite tbh.
We already have a fairly stacked squad (we've 22 contracted as it is) and the noises from the club/manager have been that our strategy has been to avoid having any significant turnover (basically the opposite of the Robinson era). The story was that we were expecting to sign 5 max this summer - we've already signed 2 and the chat seems to be we're not really in a hurry to do business.
Is he a winger?
As it stands we already have 4 players on the books who play in the wide/forward area with 2 midfielders on top of that who can play in that sort of area as well. If it was me, looking at our squad I'd say we're probably in the market for a centre forward/#9, a central midfielder and maybe a left back or centre half.
Gone_Shrimping wrote:Yes , winger. He started off and was not great under Robinson although he scored 2 goals away at Crewe in November.
Derek Adams as he has with a few players got the best out of him and he was a first team regular at the end of the season.
I noticed that Motherwell already have a pretty large squad. Maybe he will end up at St Mirren.

Cheers. I mean, I wouldn't rule it out - contracts expire in England tomorrow right? Maybe things will be a bit clearer at that point. Where Robinson was entirely predictable in recruitment I've all but given up trying to second guess Alexander and what he thinks the team needs.
Doing a quick Google search his name popped up in a Scottish Sun story with a vague link to both us and St Mirren but again the language it 'pinch of salt' stuff:
"St Mirren boss Stephen Robinson signed Gnahoua for the Shrimps last term and is on the lookout for fresh talent up front.
Motherwell gaffer Graham Alexander is also aware of the 29-year-old from his time bossing down south.
It’s thought Morecambe have tried to tempt him to stay with a new deal while other SPFL Premiership sides are also believed to be keeping tabs."
Beyond that, as it stands, none of the reliable sports journalists have run any sort of concrete story of interest. The main Motherwell story at the moment is an "Old Firm tug of war" over one of our 15 year old academy players.
