Welcome to the new lads. I think we need to realistic and someone who's done well in League 2 or someone who's not quite cut it at a League one club higher up is our pond we are fishing in. More importantly its how they fit into Adam's system and mentality. I think he will mainly get it right and appears to be fixing the defence as a priority. Hopefully a replacement for Toums and a couple of attacking options and we are looking at a decent Adam's squad

If Adam doesn't re-sign we need another keeper. I've not seen him....is he good enough to be our 1st choice?

If Adam doesn't re-sign we need 2 new keepers. I thought he was very good in his 1 appearance , when Evatt threw his toys out of the pram and we let a late equaliser in.

All two year deals so far after his comments last year I thought he wouldn't want too many as it ties up his budget.

I presume Derek is happy that they aren't a risk. Decent players that are available probably request a 2 year deal for some security. The poorer players probably have to accept 1 year deals.

Another one who I'll pass judgement on after a few games v EFL1 strikers.

Reading about him on the Mansfield Fans Forum there are differing opinions of him but the general consensus is that he's not the quickest.....but as I said previously DA has this uncanny ability of finding players who fit his profile and 'need' at the time.

Welcome.... :)

Love was praised at Shrewsbury for his role at right-back, however fell out of favour when Cotterill switched to a back 5. Melbourne was stand-out player on loan from Lincoln at Walsall and Stevenage, and seemingly was surplus to requirements with Lincoln well-equipped with players in his position. Rawson sounds like a last-ditch, strong, tall defender, with his main negative being his consistency. We’ve seen Derek turn inconsistent players into consistently-dependable ones, and at the age of 25 he’s still got plenty of time to develop under Derek.

Good start to sure up our defence in my opinion.

Their ages are 23, 25 and 27, and have all played at League One level (or at least a significant amount of experience at League Two) recently, so I would say two-year deals for them seems more sensible than it was for the likes of Obika, Wes and Duffus.

What does impress me is that our new recruitment guy has been involved in every transaction which alongside DA has considerable potential of being a valuable partnership for the club.

I had hoped Jacob Bedeau would end up back with us, but we've got a few defenders now. He was superb last season. Mind you, now Burnley are a Championship side, he may be needed there.

Welcome and best of luck to all three lads.

Perhaps someone could resurrect and update that thread with the list of contracted players for next season?

He is the son of John Harkes, who captained the USA team during the 90s, John played for Sheffield Wednesday and Derby County, West Ham.

Ian was born here Derby in the UK while his Dad was playing here.
