Pompey fans shocked that 25 year old right back Callum Johnson, "a solid defender with a good cross on him", is allowed to leave on a free.

He's played at Fleetwood and Stanley so relocation probably not a problem.

Certainly sounds like their fans rated him, so perhaps he'd be one to watch.

Without knowing masses about either player, they both seem like decent shouts. Seems like Mandron is a good target man, can link play and play off the wing which I think ticks a few boxes. On his injury - Crewe wanted to keep him and he started the last five games of the season. I'd say that's a good sign.

Don't know much about Johnson but appears to have Lancashire roots as has already been pointed out, and rated by Portsmouth fans. A bit of versatility is handy too given Adams likes a small squad.

Gavin Massey released by Wigan. Lives in Greater Manchester, I believe. Not sure where, but is In NW.

A quality League One player.

Is that what he was on, or what he's looking for?

Its obviously not a guarenteed definite amount, but it is a good guideline, he was 3rd highest earner at Wigan

From your own link...

"His 2017–18 season saw Carey transfer his excellent League Two form into League One, particularly during the second half of the season. From the 4–1 victory against Oldham Athletic until the defeat to Northampton, Carey operated as an inside forward alongside Ruben Lameiras to great effect. Between them they created more than half of Argyle's goal scoring chances and were directly involved in 26 of the team's 35 goals during that time.

Carey struggled during the first half of the 2018–19 season, with his goal return falling dramatically. His inferior performances stemmed largely from a tactical switch by manager Derek Adams, which saw the Irishman operate from wider, deeper positions.

He was offered a new contract by Plymouth Argyle at the end of the 2018–19 season, but left the club after his contract expired".

Derek had already left Plymouth by this point so Carey may have left for that reason.
