They've battered us all game, and it looks like we are going to lose to 2 of the softest goals ever scored against us. I really thought that we would be up for this game, but we've been poor. Never looked like scoring. It's going to be a long week to see our final outcome.
Shocking, Phillips talks himself into a booking.

Actually, I'd give it to Gibson.

Fleetwood need to either draw their remaining two games, or win one AND Gillingham need to win their final game.

MKD commentary praising Harry Darling for keeping Cole quiet. We never got the ball to Cole, so yes he was quiet.

If Gillingham don't beat Rotherham next Saturday we are safe

Rotherham need to win that for promotion

That's what I'm relying upon, but Rotherham have been very inconsistent lately. If Sheffield Wednesday win on Tuesday, then we would *PROBABLY* be safe, as Gillingham beating Rotherham AND Fleetwood beating Bolton is unlikely.

But focussing on ourselves, we *REALLY* need to improve or we're getting hammered next week. If fit, Wildig to start with Phillips on the bench please.

Would be nice for the North West... ...but I'll be happy if Fleetwood don't get another point!

I think that is a bit harsh, sometimes very good teams play very well and win games. That is just football. We played very well to beat Burton, Oxford and Charlton, just the way it goes. We are still in the best position of those fighting so we have to go in to next week 100% behind the lads.

I think Fleetwood will stay up, with 40 points.

Can't see Gillingham beating Rotherham, who will need something from the game on Saturday, regardless of mid-week results (if they lose mid-week, Milton Keynes can catch them and push them out of the automatic promotion, if they win, then a second win & Wigan defeat could see them champions).

Maybe clever from Derek today , knowing we would be up against it , he made sure we didn't get a drubbing that would have meant Gills goal difference was better than ours and then a draw v Sunderland might not have been enough if Gills beat Rotherham.

That's my conspiracy theory !

I hope and it's hard to say this but come on Bolton and Rotherham.

Still holding on to Gillingham getting nothing from Bolton.
Rotherham to win as well.
I'd rather be in our position than Gillingham or Fleetwoods.

Gillingham v Rotherham next week will be very interesting

Gillingham worst home record in the league - only scored 13 goals all season

Rotherham have one of the best away records only conceding 10 goals all season

One thing is for sure it`s going to very very tense and nervy

One things for sure today showed just how far behind the top teams we actually are. MK had injury issues today but brought in quality replacements and never gave us a sniff. Probably no comparison with the respective budgets like!

For me, we defended really well apart from the opening goal. We struggled to get forward with any threat as MK were on their game and defended very well. They looked every bit as good as the team that took us apart earlier in the season and put 4 past us.
Sometimes, after a couple of dodgy performances, teams knuckle down and do the simple things well and make it hard in order to win. That’s what they did.
We did our best and after some good performances recently to pull us to the edge of safety, people saying “we were poor, we need to be better to stay up”, have you been asleep for the past month?
Yes we lost, but these are joint second with Rotherham, with players who will see them as pretty safe automatics next season in this division or mid table in the Championship if they scramble up through the playoffs, but that’s just my opinion.
Sometimes, the opposing team play well and stop you doing what you want, and if we aren’t on it 100%, that’s what happens.
A dose of reality is needed and it’s woken us up to the task in hand over the past few weeks. Well another dose came yesterday, hopefully. Onward.

Totally agree Freez - Mk Dons are in the top 3 for a reason (they are one of the best sides in the division and have been very consistent all season)

If someone said when Derek took over for the 2nd time we would take the season to the last game - every supporter would have snapped your hand off (especially with the tough fixture we had to play)

Bet Gillingham and Fleetwood would swap places with us right now !!!!

League 1 is probably the hardest it`s ever been (teams like Charlton, Ipswich, Portsmouth and Oxford have only finished around the mid table area)
