Expect we might send J. Andrésson back off his loan if we plan on signing another keeper.

On paper the defence looks good, been pretty woeful when put into practice, I still don't expect any to leave. Surprised Mensah hasn't been given much of a chance, must not look very good in training.

Expect we'll make an attempt to move McDonald on. His omission from the squad for the Doncaster game strongly suggests he won't play for us again.

Harrison has made next to no impact. If his contract is up this month then I doubt we will renew and he will be out the door too.

For me we should look to be off loading (if we can) McDonald, Delaney and Duffus with question marks against Ayunga, O'Connor, Cooney, Gibson and Obika....

Why Cooney.....

If you look at the usual type of goals against us, they have come ( in my opinion) from wide areas where the opposition wing man has been allowed too much room in which to make a telling cross into the box.

Our full backs in general allow too much space and don't mark tight enough. However our wide men hardly ever appear to have the luxury of space and when they have our crosses are either over hit or go to the opposition. Not sure of the number but how many goals have we scored from wide area crosses AND how many goals have we given away due to our full backs in general not closing their man down quick enough....

However it may be an instruction from our manager(s) as this has been a common fault under previous managers....

Unable to form a credible partnership with O'Connor and looked uneasy when put under pressure.

Was eventually loaned out BUT maybe will be given another chance under DA who will have different ideas of how to defend. Maybe O'Connor will be the one to be have his 2 year deal terminated as he has been an ever present during this campaign and the goals column against tells its own story.

“Likes to attack the ball”? He had the worst aerial dual win rate of any of our defenders. He is large in stature but that’s about it with him. Also missed an open net at the back stick from a yard out. Hopefully he can rekindle some form at Scunthorpe but that’s doubtful with how poor their side is.

On the topic of Cooney RR, he hasn’t had a good season and Ryan McLaughlin is simply a better and more reliable defender. Cooney’s ceiling is still very high but we’ve got to remember that Derek favoured Mellor quite often last season, and Mellor was no where near League One level unfortunately.

Sounds as though Baz contacted Connor Ripley some time ago to see what was happening to him come the end of last season. Once again a big influence in his signature was Greg Strong who to date is proving a very good addition to DA's back room staff.
