Although it may sound barmy. As Beyond radio comms have just said, as scores stand Morecambe could still survive.

I'm cringing watching this, it's men against boys. Every time they go forward they look like scoring.
We get the ball and look lost, clueless, devoid of any ideas.
Like all of the Morecambe fans, I'm fingers crossed for a miracle. It will need one to save us now.
COME ON YOU MORECAMBE REDS.

Maybe the Shrimps could get the last minute goal.

I don’t know the figures, but there won’t be many teams avoid relegation in any division if they have conceded 75 goals with 8 games to go. If we keep going at this rate we will be up towards 90 against for the season!

All the other teams around us are doing their best for us. When will we start playing again?

Despite the result the league positions haven't changed.

2-0 0r 5-0 the result only means that it was another loss of 3 points BUT it also happened to those above so it's all square once again.

In many ways if we get relegated then we are punching at an almost same weight to those in EFL2.

For me the blame of this season lies at the appointment of Judas who brought in too many players with little if any EFL1 expertise BUT the worry is that the majority are on 2 year contracts. Hopefully written into those contracts is an escape clause for our club that allows the club to get rid of those players DA doesn't want next season. A mass clear out is needed and for me the only ones to keep would be Wildig, Tooms, Stockton and then I'm struggling....

All can be saved but listening to the commentary it sounds as though we came out for the second 45 with no desire or appetite. Maybe DA said some home truths in the half time that the players didn't like.

TOUGH.

At the start of this season I accepted that there was a chance we might not be good enough for league 1 - we might get outplayed regularly by better teams with massively superior finances. And I said to myself that if that happened, I wouldn't mind - as long as the team tried their best.

Apart from a couple of exceptions, I don't think we have been outplayed by other teams though. We've been competitive and the majority of teams in this division are not significantly better than us.

And that's why it bothers me so much that we are heading towards relegation - we are good enough to stay up, but we have underperformed. If we go down, I don't think I'll look back on this season as a 'good experience' - I'll see it as a really disappointing season and a chance lost to stay in the division.

I agree on our day when we play well we look a comfortable midtable side but we only seem to be able to do it for 45mins.

It's so frustrating as you can see we deserve to be in this league then we go and shoot ourselves in the foot and undo all the good work.

I suppose the key is consistency at this level and we don't have it apart from consistently giving away stupid goals.

While we were losing under Stephen Robinson, we were creating chances, often more than the opposition, by taking the game to teams. Sadly defending kept letting us down. However, under Derek we’re not even creating chances.

Shane McLoughlin was playing inside right and was attacking the box now he’s covering at right back and struggling, and Jonah Ayunga had turned a corner and was contributing, now he’s put of the side and when he’s on he and Cole are at each other’s throats for the lack of passing.

Given the fixtures and despite how close the bottom six are, I don’t see any real prospect of getting a win, especially while we play with rope-a-dope style tactics that just see us hammered to the canvas and knocked out

Thank goodness I'm an optimist.....we never conceded any corners in 90 minutes FFS! ;)

The lower leagues have plenty of teams that were, according to their fans, "good enough to compete at the higher level' or "too good to go down". You only have to look at our goal difference to see that, unfortunately, these phrases don't honestly apply to us. If, by a miracle, we manage to stay up we will spend the next year(s) constantly under threat of relegation.

If, as I expect, we go down we will lose much of the fan base we have at this year and the next battle will be to stay a comfortable distance from dropping out of division 2. Bigger clubs than us have struggled with this. In league one at the moment you can look at Charlton as an example.

Many of you are young enough to be able to say to your grandchildren, in future years, "I remember when Morecambe played Sheff Wed, Ipswich, Sunderland etc' and the'll tell their mates that their grandfather has got dementia!

Very concerning performance, looked like a group playing together for the first time with no instructions whatsoever, very worrying, not the kind of performance I'd expect from a Derek team at all.

First half actually wasn't too bad, could have taken the lead and maybe unlucky to go behind. Second goal was never a penalty and after that, heads dropped massively and we completely fell apart.

All the teams around us also managed to lose too at least, Fleetwood conceding in the 94th minute. Need to tighten things up defensively in a big way if we're to have any hope against Wigan, I'm thinking 5 at the back with Fane and Toums protecting.

Just watched the highlights and NO WAY was that a stone wall penalty. Hit the shoulder NOT the arm whereas the penalties we've appealed about in other games have been obvious but referees and their officials see otherwise.

I had a real go on Saturday at the officials (without any swearing) as they came off the pitch about the amount of extra minutes played. By my calculation there had been 5 subs which a referee should allow 30 seconds per sub. A couple of incidents involving physios which amounted to about 3 minutes loss in playing time. That in total equates to 5.5 minutes. BUT the ref only allowed 30 seconds for the blatant time wasting by Cheltenham.

So the 6 minutes extra was in my opinion far short of what it should have been.

In truth I doubt we would have scored another couple of goals even if the ref had awarded 10 minutes over but still a very bad error by the ref which typified his overall game management throughout the match.
