Failure at Oldham and ran all the way back North of the Border.

Failure at the Mazuma and runs all the way back North of the Border.

Where will he run to next when he's a failure at St Mirren...... :?: :?: :?:

"It's an absolute honour that St Mirren have come in and were willing to pay the compensation."

"We spoke in-depth about where we can take the club and there's real exciting times ahead.

With the foundations that have already been built by Jim/Adam it's up to me to take them on and build on what's already been done

Deja vu?

So how did that work out then?

I think St Mirren have made a big mistake but perhaps one of his back room staff will have the tactical nous that he lacks.

What really get's me about this is, whilst he may have apologised to the board and hopefully to the players, there is not a word to the fans. The fans who have, by his own admission, given fantastic support at all matches, win or lose!!!!!

He's apparently their highest paid manager of all time now, so I suppose we can't really blame him for going. It is his livelihood and we would all do the same job for more money. The timing is bad, but let's move on from him now. He must not of felt like he could keep us up, even though he has been trying to persuade us that he can, but I think the man is all talk and not that great of a manager tbh.

I agree you would think he would have left a message for the fans or something instead of just running off.

I don't think Robinson had a great relationship with our fans really. He never made a massive effort to clap at the end of the game, home or away. He chucked in the odd line during interviews but there wasn't much of a bond there.

Crazy to think Robbo could command a salary double what the PM gets

He didn't but generally managers don't. Even Bentley, a club legend had issues with some of the fans.

Robbo just played the game - smiled, wore the tie, said what people wanted to hear, took the money and kept himself in the market for a better offer.

Disagree with the stuff about Jim, he really bought in to what the club and town was about as a player and a Manager. As vocal as I was about his time being up at the club due to results and performances, you have to respect the way he bonded with the fans. I do agree with the Robinson stuff though, leaves a sour taste in the mouth now.

Don't get me wrong about Jim. He loved MFC and will forever be a legend for me. Towards the end though the fanbase became move divided on him staying and I think it effected him. Robbo couldn't care less but in some ways that made him better able to cope with the stresses of the job.

There is very little loyalty in football nowadays. Clubs hire and fire managers with indecent haste and by the same token managers are entitled to feather their own nest if a lucrative offer happens along as in Robbo's case.

We need to take the good things out of it and move on (which I'm sure we will). As mentioned we have the compo which will help and in a masochistic sort of way I have enjoyed most games this season, so here's to you Mr Robinson.

He could have handled his departure slightly differently with the fans, but would any of us have been listening at his attempted platitudes? In my opinion it would have come across as very insincere. I can't remember Derek saying a right lot when he left the building either.

UTFS. Onwards and upwards hopefully.
