The squad has been moulded and trained in a very different style to him. The question that has to be asked is - can DA successfully marry his style with this squad over a very short timescale in a way that will get results? Taking the emotion of him being our promotion winning manager out of it - I'm not entirely convinced that'd be possible. There are only 14 games left. That's not meant as a pop at DA - just thinking about what'd be feasible.
It's a very tough situation we have been left in. I would be surprised to see a DA return, but I wouldn't rule it out completely and trust in the board's judgement.

I'm sorry - but this is largely superficial nonsense. Its easy to typecast managers, and pigeonhole people into categories. Ultimately Derek managed the resources he had available at the time in order to give himself the best chance to be successful - and he did that very successfully.... something he's also managed to achieve during most of his managerial appointments to date. The clubs resources have changed now, had they been the same at the time I am unsure if he would have had the same approach - and neither are you. As a result you should not discount a proven manager based on some spurious ideology.
What we do know about Derek, like any manager worth his salt (including Robbo who eventually went more defensive when we were getting dicked on the road playing an expansive game with limited CB and terrible goalkeepers for the level), is that he would come in and set the team up the best way he sees fit in order to get results. Style has nothing to do with it at this stage - its all about results.
For me Derek already knows the club, and most of the senior pros here - be that from his time here previously (Phillips, Toums, Gibbo, Wildig, Cole, Cooney) or his time in Scotland. For this reason alone given the timeframe, assuming he would be interested, he has to be considered - at least in the short term.

Not sure who’d I’d like, I would give Derek a try if they want to go that route,
But I have faith in the board
Would like to see someone named and introduced at the game on Saturday

Sure, we are a minnow at this level but come in and get five or six wins you will probably keep the team in the division and then have a real positive on your managerial CV.
