Only slight worry for me is we played really well and still lost

Three points from safety now as well ... Cant really let that grow to much

Personally think we need at least a point against Wycombe - But my god thats another very very tough game

Keep the faith - we go again on saturday

As I think has been said before.....it's the hope that kills you!

Early in the season we were given hope that we would be clear of a relegation fight by the good results the team were getting. At Spurs we were given hope that we might even get a surprise result and tonight, again, we had hope right up to half time that we might even get 3 points.

Somehow, and to be honest I don't care how, we need to start picking up points.

I'll probably wake up feeling hopeful again tomorrow

If we go down and it’s an if we will look better financially

We must be making decent money this season which can only help

I know it’s not a positive way of thinking but it’s true. With Sam & Carlos money. Cup runs and some hefty attendances we must be so much more stable. The club itself are doing so many things right now. The communication with the fans has improved no end. The match day experience is improved. The only area we’ve fallen down is recruitment. Even that now is clearly on on the up with Foyle. Signings appear more thought out. Robbo’s excuses for rushed recruitment can’t explain everything but it’s certainly valid.

IF we are to fall back down if we recruit properly (and there’s no reason we shouldn’t be planning these moves now) we should be in great shape. Agree though it’s thankfully still an if. Plenty of fight left as evidenced tonight.

That is it completely. If we go down, but go down showing passion & fight, then so be it, but I also believe, playing how we have recently, we will be okay. Even if we lose the next couple of really tough games, we've still got enough time.

We play well but still lose and still no one chips in with a goal or two to support Stockton. We need someone to come in and contribute a few goals. Duffus, McDonald, Obika, Gnaouia and I'm afraid Ayunga are not natural goalscorers. Teams know if they can bottle up Cole then they will take us. Whatever Halifax want for their young striker we have to sign him or an alternative goalscorer. What worries me is in the last couple of interviews the manager has said we haven't much money- is this a script he inherited ? I am sure if the club came to fans and asked for help to buy someone then a number of us would help. We have got to stay in League 1 whatever it takes.

The young lad from Halifax is a midfielder not a striker

The difference last night was better teams take their chances where as we didn't and the only outlet we had was Greg bombing down the left. I felt we really needed to be 2 up going into halftime as felt Wigan would throw everything at us second half, also I think in the last 20 we tired as playing like we did in the first half takes its toll.

The defence was looking a lot more comfortable even passing it between themselves at times and they seem to have a lot of confidence in passing back to Carson when needed.

I think what is going to cost us now is lack of options upfront and not been able to turn tight games into wins.

I worry we have a tough run of games coming up and draws aren't going to be enough, we really needed 3 points from either Wigan or Wycombe and I actually think the Wycombe will be harder as Ainsworth is a good manager.

I agree if we go down do we sell Cole and then give the manager a large budget next season to try and bounce back, my only worry there is will Robbo football work in League 2 as you can't pass your way out of League 2.

Absolutely gutted. Played brilliantly, and we're capable of beating a majority of teams in the league with performances like that. Even against one of the top sides in Wigan, it took some very poor refereeing decisions to swing the game in their favour. Such a clear push on McLaughlin for their second. Not even a naughty little nudge, two hands! And the handball that wasn't given...

Got to take the positives though - that performance was excellent. Hopefully Robbo can help the players move on from the disappointment of the result and carry the performance against Wycombe.

Play like that against Wycombe, I'd be relatively confident of a win. Watched their game against Bolton last week and Bolton had them on toast for about 30 mins before Wycombe got a grip/Charles got tired up front (not played in ages).

I wonder if we are saving all the income from selling players and cup runs to buy a training ground.

I understood that the club have been looking forsuitsble land to develop as a Training Base ever since Jimmy Harvey was manager but with little if any success.

Under JH they initially came to an agreement with Middleton Fc to use their ground but it proved totally unsuitable due to the poor condition of the playing surface. Then when Sammy Mc took over they used the Preston Sports Centre followed by a pitch near the Royal Albert Hospital near Lancaster followed by.... :?: :?: :?:

The Uni has been used for nearly 3 years I think with an increase in its facilities this season. I doubt if the original plan to purchase some land to develop has changed due to the lack of available and more important suitable land for such a use.

The Uni is ideal but the pitches used need work on them to combat the risk of injury which has been on the increase this season. Somehow I can't see any changes to the current agreement in the future.

Plenty of land for sale off the Heysham bypass, bet its pretty boggy but there is plenty of space.

I would have thought that the land off the Heysham By Pass has already been investigated BUT the cost of drainage alone would be expensive before any contractor starts on any infrastructure.

The cost of any training base could be in the millions which the club just doesn't have....at the moment.

I could of course be wrong...but that's nothing new....

Stick a couple of big windmills up and some solar panels here and there and then it will pay for itself!

Before the Spurs game last weekend, the club tweeted a video of the first team training at Lancaster & Morecambe College rather than at Lancaster Uni. I've read on Twitter that they've been training there more often.

There seemed to be an awful lot of injures earlier on in the season - whether that was because of the standard of the pitches at the Uni (who knows?).

Back to last nights game...

How good was AOC's triple tackle? It was Jimbo-esque. Loved it.

I've only seen our penalty claim once. I thought it bounced awkwardly and hit the lad's arm, but Stephen Robinson said he "miskicked it and hit his arm". If that is the case, then no-penalty is the correct decision, as I understand it. The Law didn't change, but interpretation did. If the ball strikes the arm or hand, it is handball regardless of intent, unless it comes off the player himself, then strikes his arm, in which case it is not handball unless there was clear intent.

Any refs out there who can confirm/clarify?

For me, he has had a big swipe at the ball, missed it by a mile and his arm has stopped it going through to our player. It's a penalty for me as it effected the run of play

But if it came off his own foot, then it isn't a penalty. I didn't see it as coming off him, but SR said he miskicked it, so it then becomes moot.

The above offences apply even if the ball touches a player’s hand/arm directly from the head or body (including the foot) of another player who is close.

Except for the above offences, it is not an offence if the ball touches a player’s hand/arm:

* directly from the player’s own head or body (including the foot)
