Computerised turnstyles

Computerised turnstyles

I was under the impression that a requirement of league football was that you had to have computerised turnstyles to provide an on-going tally of numbers entering a stadium.

It would appear from messages on the Exeter Forum that they do not have it.

Seems somewhat strange that we were ordered to install it and yet Exeter appear to have got away without having to do likewise.

At Accrington they count the muddy footprints leading out of the turnstyles then divide by two.

I can assure you the turnstiles at Exeter are indeed computerised and have been for several years, so no idea where you got that story from!

From postings on the Football Forum.

My apology for the genuine error.

From my experience of walking through a gate on Saturday.

All the turnstiles are linked to a central computer. Indeed being an anorak, I used to sometimes watch the figures clock up before a match.

The point being we didn't go through a turnstile on Saturday Mike, honest!

We were in the stand that is on the left viewed from the normal away terracing.
We went in through one of the exit gates. NOT a turnstile.
