At least she should be able to keep up with the game play, unlike half the other refs we get.

Who was the female linesman who was sexistly patronised by Andy Grey on Sky, and then it was shown that she was right in the decision, and he was a dick?

While Rebecca Welch is a first for us, we were a first in football a few seasons back, when Cheltenham v Morecambe was the first Football League match where both linesmen were female.

So how did that work out then?

You never know Keith, we could be the first again in the future when all four officials are female ! By the way Keith, you need to be careful. Somebody could have a go at you for having famale lines(men) ! :o LOL.

I think the correct term now is assistant referees, allowing for binary and non-binary officials without discrimination. :ugeek:

Many women dislike the term 'chairperson' and prefer to be called 'chairman', so there are roles where 'man' is in the word, without being gender specific. And females belong to the species 'human', not 'huperson'. But yes 'referee's assistant' is... ...n'ah, still 'linesmen' to me, whatever gender the person doing it is!

I wanted to be able to say she had a good game , but I can't. She waved play on quite a few times when we had been fouled or impeded. There was a clear block near the end which she waved play on with them in possession.

The first goal looked offside but that was down to the assistant who had a poor game down the Berlin Wall side.

Anybody thinking we should sell Cole in the January Window got a glimpse of the future without him and it looked bleak.

Agreed - unfortunately today’s reffing performance was poor. Quite a few bizarre decisions.

Like “gone shrimping” I wanted the first female referee at the Mazuma to have a good game but in truth she was very poor and clearly not ready for League football. Her positioning during the game was questionable and she was never quite in touch with the game. Also a couple of the MK dons players had conversations with her early in the game and from then on her decisions favoured them. Very disappointing.

MK Dons conned her all game. She was very weak and made some shocking calls. I felt she was bullied today.

I agree, they were chatting to her and played the dark arts very well. Niggling all day, soon as we niggled back they went down. Three obvious fouls played on, Ayunga, Wes and Arthur, there bloke falls over his own feet and handballs it, free kick!!
Frustrating afternoon.
