Just had an email from the club saying they are awaiting allocation for Buxton tickets

Once they receive confirmation this will be on the website as per normal

Buxton have started to offer their supporters tickets who have the voucher from last week, their season ticket holders also have priority. This started yesterday and goes on till tomorrow.

After that they will have an idea of what the demand is and whether we get more than 400, pretty sure every man, woman and child in the peak district will want a ticket

Still some uncertainty over how many tickets they can give us. Capacity is 2650 but they are hoping to increase it.

Why not book your hotel and make sure you have cancellation cover, book your travel nearer the time or again with cancellation cover. ;)

Buxton is easy by train
Every hour from Piccadilly - it’s the end of the line
Have to catch the Buxton train most weeks to get to Hazel Grove

Preference given to the 2600 season ticket holders I would expect.

If any trouble at the tie it would mean that those responsible could have their season ticket cancelled.

Even though I will be stood up (if I get a ticket) I find it shocking that we have not been given any seats for the cup tie

This will put a lot of people off going especially people who can’t stand for almost two hours

Oh well 400 tickets …. Mad rush Monday

Application system in stages ahoy..

1. Current Season Ticket holders
2. Last Seasons Ticket holders + above
3. Non season ticket holders that had a Newport ticket
4. General sale

Clearly not going to go past stage 2

Is it not ballot with last years and this years season ticket first

Then ballot with people who just have this seasons ticket

Yes - all season ticket holders can apply for tickets at the moment - and have until Thursday to do so. If applications exceed 400*, people that also held a 2020/21 season ticket will get preference. If there is over 400 people with preference (circa 800, but potentially a lot less as not everyone will want to go if standing only and on TV/already has plans), then a ballot will take place for people in this category. If there is less than 400 meeting this criteria then a ballot will take place for the remaining tickets for current year season ticket holders that applied (2650 -800 = circa 1850). I don't think the ballot will need to go any further than this - but appreciate that the club needs to be thorough.

So in reality, preferences are:

1. 2020/21 + 2021/22 ST holders
2. 2021/22 ST Holders
3. Non season ticket holders that had a Newport ticket
4. General sale

Appreciate that this is all new to the club, but they need to double check everything. If people want to go who have held a season ticket for years, somehow miss out due to some admin cock-up, only to find out that people in category 2 have secured tickets - then people are going to be a bit miffed.

*I hope the full allocation is made available to people who meet the criteria - i.e. the club doesn't give freebies away and limits concessions to players and staff - or if needs be, asks for additional allocation to cover this. 400 should be for fans only.

I’m sure there will be over 400 applying for Buxton tickets

My guess will be app 1000 fans will apply so 600 missing out

But looks the fairest way of selling them

I read somewhere that Buxton's ground had a limit of 4000 some seasons ago but local authorities have reduced that to 2500 although they are looking at ways to increase the capacity as a one off for the FA Cup Tie.

Spot on. It should be for customers only, not friends and family or even staff. I would be upset if I saw anyone there on the terrace who did not fit the Season ticket holder criteria.

I fully expect the full 400 to go to current season ticket holders who had a season ticket they couldn't use last season and it is the right thing.

I am sure the powers that be are fully aware of the sensitivity here.
