St Georges Day Celebrations have now got under way in the York (Seeing as this miserly Government wont make it a Bank Holiday)

And a very happy St George's day to Aragon, Catalonia, Ethiopia, Georgia, Greece, Lithuania, Palestine, Portugal, and Russia, as well as the cities of Amersfoort, Beirut, Bteghrine, Cáceres, Ferrara, Freiburg, Genoa, Ljubljana, Gozo, Pomorie, Qormi, Lod and Moscow of which he is also the patron saint as well as all Scouts, skin disease sufferers and syphilitic people.

Pity he isn't English, but we'll let him off just for today, which is by the way also Shakespeare day as he was both born and died on this the 23rd April. Now there's a real English hero.

hope there's plenty of St George's references in the quiz tonight at the York Hotel, starting 9pm, unfortunately wont be there in time for a traditional roast dinner beforehand.

Good to hear of some good St. Georges Day drinking and enjoyment. Should beat St. Paddy's (or Guinness) day hands down.

Sadly its not the same round here where it basically consists of people dressed as football hooligans pretending that they're not allowed to celebrate it and moaning about it in a racist manner.

Just checked back regarding this photo Mark. What a pity you chose a Southern pint with no decent head - shame on you.
