Another undisclosed signing on fee involved, he seems a good fit to me. Partner of former U.K. No1 Tennis champ Heather Watson

Sounds as though yet again the BoD have backed SR probably realizing that our survival in EFL1 will be down to our ability to control and then win games having a strike partnership that will do the business.

However the one area that for me still needs some extra input (assuming that there is still some money in the pot) is a like for like replacement for Toums who with the best will on earth can't be expected to compete in every game to his own high standards.

Tuesday night they effectively nullified Toums as well as Cole which shows that they had done their homework on us. I fully expect other teams to do the same hence we will need a more than capable alternative to Toums as the season progresses.

How many more signings will the BoD be able to afford before the budget is no longer capable of the extra funding....... :?: :?: :?:

So we might have even got a fee for Duffus? Looked a decent player but injuries spoiled his chances here, agent has done well to get him a move upwards on a 2 year deal given his injuries last season.

Sorry to see Duffus leaving us, by far the best striker to partner Cheek that we have had recently. Not sure how he has managed to sign a contract with
a FL2 club when he has been out injured for most of last season and pre-season this. He has goals in him but nowhere near as prolific as Cheek. Anyhow,
can only wish him well. At least he will not be lining up against us in the near future.

I trust Robbo but signing another injury prone player is not good

Hope he can stay fit and score a few goals

Another gamble especially on 2 year contract

a big gamble this! hope this doesn't comeback to bite us.

we could end up with 2 injury prone forwards out with long injury's on 2yr contracts, when potentially we could be back in L2 next season.

Not sure how he spent so much time out injured due to the fact he only signed for them from Yeovil in January and then played 18 games till the season end. Looking at their pre season games I can only see him featuring once. Maybe he's had a niggle but surely he's passed a fitness test prior to signing for us.

In one game, can’t remember which now, he was concussed so rules stipulate he has to be rested and then later when they sacked there long standing manager after 5 years in errrrrrr around March I think and appointed a new one Duffos hardly played again. Was he injured, did the manager not think him good enough or was it just a clash in personalities? Who knows, who cares, he’s a Morecambe player now so trust our gaffer, he’s done ok so far :D
Enjoy
