Ipswich (A) Predictions, 7 August

Postby Sakhalin Shrimp » Wed Aug 04, 2021 11:07 am

Predictions please for our 1st competitive game in League 1.

Virtually a complete new team and opposition.

Hedging our bets both Mrs Sak and I are going with a 1-1 draw

Surprising 0-1 and immediate strife amongst the remaining Portman Road faithful. It's a fine ground, to be fair. Also, thanks for organising the prediction league.

A sharp reminder of what we have to face this season.

Sorry but it's a 3-0 defeat unfortunately.

Pinching myself that there's 3 points at stake here. Ipswich are my prediction for the league and they're first up for us away from home! Sadly I'll go 3-1 Ipswich.

I'm going for 2v1 Ipswich but with our lads putting in a good effort.

As long as we don't get too many put past us which would be bad for confidence, but if we can show some resolve and then move onto Shrews, Rotherham and Gillingham where we need to be picking up points.

20,000 Tractor Boys, 350 Shrimps, 11 v 11 on the pitch

Surprising 1.1

thinking the same.

but hopefully all this pressing what keeps getting mentioned we've been working on pre season will keep the scoreline down to 1-0 defeat

Ipswich 2 Morecambe 0

There forward line looks one of the strongest in League 1

If there's a good time to be taking on Ipswich, with their big money signings, this could be it. They are a new squad and are still 'gelling' (as are we). Some of their new signings apparently ain't ready for this Saturday so we might have a squeak. Heart says we can get a draw but head says 1-0 to Ipswich.

Strong front choices, but Paul Cook will only play one of them up front. We have beaten his teams many a time over the years

0-3.....three 1st half goals, followed by a sweaty palmed 2nd half for Shrimps punters who were brave enough to invest a £enner on 0-3 at 33/1ish. :D

33/1 for 0-3 at half-time or full? I'd love it if you topped the Prediction Competition at the end of week one!

Full-time.....that would make the 2nd half unbearable for the punter, and almost as unbearable for all those stood within his/her vicinity.
