Who else still feels like it's a dream? Being mentioned as after the same player as Ipswich & Sunderland and considering "making an offer" for a player? Happy Days!
SR's reputation for developing young talent & regular football may be a key draw to Murphy.

If this rumour were true it could mean Sam's absence from the action yesterday was due to a pending move so therefore a replacement for him possibly

Am I missing something here? What's the point of selling Sam and paying for his replacement? Unless we're selling Sam for lots more than we'd have to pay Murphy (or someone else), why would we do it and lose our captain? Sounds like Murphy is similar to Sam, so surely couldn't be cheaper?
redrobo wrote:Not sure that Murphy would cost as much as we could get for Sam for the simple reason is that Sam is proven at this level.
At the moment it is pure speculation regarding Sam but a few predicted that he could be on his way close season to a higher division club.
What will be, will be but Sam deserves a chance higher up the leagues. He's been excellent for us so I'd wish him well.....BUT he's still our player....

Sam isn’t proven at THIS level though.
I can’t see us getting a comparable fee for him as we did Carlos, so I think for the stability of the club, it’d surely be better to keep our excellent captain and take the loss when his contract ends - his leadership qualities could prove invaluable for the club in keeping us up.

Ooops my mistake ....I should have said at EFL2 level.....but I'm sure you knew what I meant.
As for keeping him until his contract expires there is no guarantee that SR will pick him and the indications following Saturday would suggest that SR sees the current partnership as appeared on Saturday the one he prefers. Maybe Saturday will confirm our manager's intentions. The same could apply to Cole who straight after the game was having an exchange of words with the manager....nothing heated...

He's never even made a senior appearance, unless you count two in the EFL Trophy for Fulham's youth team.
Would be very much one for the future.
