He's literally not shut up about us since he left. We're definitely in his head.

Best thing we can do is ignore him. Suggest if he plays on the day no reaction and act as if we have forgotten who he is.

We already know what K.E. is like from his M.F.C. days. Derek just needs totally the guys not to let him get to them. Tranmere tried and failed on Sunday. Plus I've said before, a strong ref required.

Interesting take by some that it is written for Ellison to come back and haunt us again....

.... I'd say that it is as likely for his antics earlier in the season to come back and bite him in the arse! Hopefully Derek has the last laugh - it just depends on the narrative that you want to write.

Or maybe start a Derek Adams football genius chant. To be honest he did score a decent goal at FGR but other than that he looked very slow. Slower than when he left our place.

For me he's due a standing ovation if he comes on. He was a loyal servant of our club who only just missed out on a testimonial. He provided years of entertainment and great football for us and has been a great embassador for mental health issues in football. He loves being the pantomime villain so it might be far more off putting too

For all our success under Adams he seemed to be unfairly frozen out. I've never heard him say a bad word about our fans or the wider club

If Jim had stayed as manager , Kevin would have played about 38 games in 2020/2021 season and CMG would have been released and been "discovered" somewhere else.

Who would you rather have starting for us at Wembley next week , Kevin or Carlos ?

At wembley we shouldn't boo his name as it's read out,nor boo him when he warms up. When he comes on ignore him too! When we're 3 nil up we can sing Kevin Kevin what's the score... :D Followed by there's only one Derek Adams..

You're basing that on the fact that Jim signed Carlos from non-League and gave him his senior debut?

Carlos has grown, physically & mentally over the last 18 months and yes, Derek has brought out the best in him so far, but it is one hell of a stretch to say what would have happened under Jim. The anti-Jim brigade do love to turn their predictions in to statements of 'fact'.

I wasn't and am not from the "anti-Jim brigade". I only came round to thinking we needed a change of manager for about the last month of Jim's reign.

Carlos hadn't had a look in other than the odd sub appearance in the season that Jim moved to Fylde. The very first thing that Derek did was make Carlos a first team regular.

Who was keeping Carlos out of the team ? Kevin Ellison. Does any member of the Round Up Gang really think that would have changed if Jim had stayed.

If JB had stayed. Carlos would no longer be here. Imho the previous manager didn't rate him for whatever reason and Kev would still be in the team

The anti-jim tag is a lazy response. If Jim rated Carlos he would have played him more, simple. When Carlos did play he was tagged with being too soft, giving the ball away and no end product. A lot of fans bought in to that and went along with the team selection. I saw the highlights of a ressie game a week or 2 in to Dereks reign and Carlos ripped it up. He looked like a player on cheat mode. The week after that Derek put him in the team and turned him in to a potentially 7 figure player who has helped us to a League 2 play off final.

Make no bones about it, if Jim had not resigned Carlos would have been a distant memory.

Yeah this is not some anti-Jim brigade stuff. While JB initially signed CMG and gave him a few appearances in 18/19, he basically binned him off in 19/20 after having let him go on trial at Barnsley. In all likelihood, he probably wouldn't have played much at all last season if JB had remained and consequently been released.

Unfortunately, JB would most likely have been giving Ellison a fair bit of game time last season too, when really he should only be a squad/impact player like he is currently at Newport. Not sure he ever would have accepted that role at Morecambe though.

JB did a great job for a few years but those last couple of years weren't great, and playing Ellison ahead of CMG was a bit of a clanger. Glad he's getting the chance to try something different at Fylde though, and I will be hoping that they get promoted under him next season!

Kev said on Under the Cosh that he would be in Jim's ear all the time and would kick off if not selected. It was becoming painful watching Kev play 90minutes when clearly he was unable to.

You can't say what would have happened with any certainty. He allowed him to go on trial to a Championship side, who finished this season in the play-offs and that's seen as a 'bad thing' and evidence that Jim didn't rate him?

I have no idea how Jim viewed Carlos and his development... ...and neither do you!
