The tip of the iceberg.

A lot is riding on whether we go up.

If promoted we may be able to hang onto Derek. Him staying is key to players like Big Dave , Sango'o , John O'Sullivan , Stockton etc etc staying with us. I saw somewhere that Stevenage were eyeing up Big Dave.

Sounds like shit or bust time for us , win the playoffs and we stand a chance of keeping our manager and some semblance of a team , lose and we potentially lose our manager and the biggest part of our most successful team ever ! . No pressure then !!!

Where does all the "Derek will leave if we don't get promoted" stuff come from? Has he made any comment that this may be the case? I'd like to think we are a work in progress for him.

Yep, I think this may well be our only chance of going up for a while at least. But then, aren't we the team that has been in league 2 the longest? Do we really want to lose that title?

That's how I am looking at things. Hopefully, he sees us a club that is loyal to managers and that will give him time to develop things throughout the club. Loyalty is a two-way street and the way he joined us, having given his word, suggests to me that loyalty is important to him.

So how did that work out then?
