Play offs

Play offs

Postby glagys » Sun Apr 25, 2021 6:51 am

So if we end up in the playoffs which is looking likely, and just suppose we are allowed some fans in for the home leg how will this be decided, as I suppose season ticket holders will get first choice to purchase a ticket, but I haven’t got my season ticket yet still in the shop I suppose
So how will it work

I would think that season ticket holders (not literally for most this season) would/should get priority as we’ve already paid for entry.
No doubt some will say that we’ve had our compensation with free access to iFollow for home matches but the value of this, although appreciated, only covers around 1/3 of the cost of 2 season tickets.

I'm not a season ticket holder but absolutely priority should go that way. We're all fans and would love to go but if I was there at the expense of a season ticket holder that wouldn't feel right. I'm more than happy watching the playoffs on TV through my fingers.

When you purchased your season ticket you would have been provided with a receipt. As from tomorrow you should be able to present that at the shop in exchange for your season ticket.

I wonder if there could be a big screen somewhere in Morecambe? No idea what the restrictions are going to be at that point, but it would be nice to watch in a "communal" setting rather than just in our houses

All restrictions are due to be lifted 21st June aren't they? With all the vulnerable having been vaccinated there will be no justification to extend it.

I hope your right BW but much depends on how much of the world have been vaccinated and how many people from abroad we allow in unhindered. Maybe that's a risk we have to take once all adults have had their chance to be vaccinated. Maybe then those who have refused vaccination have to take their own chance!

Whichever teams get there in any of the Leagues, there will be an almoghty scramble for tickets.

The fans at wembley now are making a mighty noise considering they are wearing masks

If Salford and Exeter both lose Tuesday evening then we will be in play offs

Could be good if that happens then we could really go for it at Walsall with no pressure

N'ah, I want Exeter to win on Tuesday, so they are really fighting to win next Saturday! :D

Actually, we can compromise! An Exeter draw means they can't catch us but can still make the play-offs if they beat Bolton, so that would be perfect! :D

So many options so all we can do is win both our games and what will be will be.... :)

For me automatic promotion was lost against Bolton and a referee who allowed a cheating scum back to get away with a deliberate and ultimately successful bit of play acting encouraged by the Bolton bench who to a man waved their fingers demanding that our lad should be sent off.

The referee refused even to consult the 4th official who was closer to the incident. I've often thought that the role of a 4th official is pointless and Saturday's non action only goes to reinforce my opinion.

Laughable... The 4th official later in the game telling our players to take throw Ins from the right place

They never seem to get involved in big incidents though

Are you saying there was no contact at all between Mellor and their lad?

Of course contact was made BUT their player went down as if he'd been 'taken out' and also if their player stamped on our lads ankle then there should be stud marks and it was an automatic reaction that we ALL would have done something similar. Ref was too quick to judge and was persuaded as much by the Bolton bench to send our lad off. 4th official did SFA to help matters.

Looking at it again, Mellor reacts with his arm more than anything, I reckon we could appeal and get this reversed, it was Afolayans Oscar nominated acting that brought the red, that and the indignant howling from the bench!

We should appeal..everything to gain.... Wonder if there is a way for the footage of the incident to be looked at much closer than what was broadcast.... :?: :?: :?:

Then there was retaliation which comes under 'violent conduct'. The ONLY sanction for 'violent conduct'. The cheating histrionics of their player was dreadful, but the ref had zero alternative, the red card was correct. Violent conduct is not defined as 'extreme' or 'severe', it 'just is'.

If you want to question the referee's competence, I'd question what appeared to be an elbow to the head that poleaxed Wildig, leaving him needing a hospital visit for concussion and queried broken jaw. That should have been a red card, but wasn't even a foul. The game should have been 10 v 10 for much of the time.

I agree, but Marcus Maddison went over the ball and got straight red against us, coincidentally for Bolton, and his was appealed and they won it!
Despite the tackle being over the ball and dangerous, yes it’s a different offence, but the video evidence helped change the outcome. Personally, I hope this could be the same!!
Nothing to lose.

Evatt reckons that DA kicked their oscar nominee and that was the reason he was substituted. We were targeting him to get the ref to even things up! :o

Think it would be a good gesture to allow season ticket holders entry free of charge for the playoff semi final and also give them priority for tickets for their friends and families.

It's interesting that the the same player who play acted was also involved in some histrionics in their mid week game v Carlisle and the Bolton manager said that he was targeted by ourselves following the Carlisle game.

It looks to me as though Bolton went out of their way to insure that at any given opportunity he had to make the most out of it to get someone sent off... :!: :!: :!:
