What was the kerfuffle around the press box? Bit of a lengthy route to be marched out!

I may be wrong, in which case we'll hear later, but I think the ball was already on the pitch and the ref just found it. Probably someone on the school field practicing their driving!

Quite right Keith...The ball bounced over the fence and on to the pitch ! as we where walking down to the ground some young lads where making their way to the School field armed with several clubs.....and that's where it came from...we saw it BoUnCe

I thought so too...it was clearly a golf not ping pong ball.

If true then those lads were trespassing. Lancaster Rd School Field is private property and NOT a Golf Course. Good job the offending ball did not hit anybody in the crowd or on the pitch. :x

As I reported the incident to security at the club I can tell you it was a golf ball that was on the pitch. It came from somewhere behind the disabled stand about 2-3 minutes before the referee discovered it. I was not the only witness to see this incident.

yeah, that's correct, then he flies the water at the front, misses the front trap (bunker to you and I) spins it back off the slope at the back of the green and has a chance of a birdie.

The ref will mention it in his report.
The club will have the statement of the witnesses and tresspass will have been reported to the correct authorities.
Action none taken against Morecambe.

Luton will not be allowed to defend their trophy as they will be a non league club next year, I for 1 as I'm sure we all do wish them well and look forward to seeing them back in the football league in a couple of years. 8-)
