Second best, but not huge difference between us, considering they are among the favourites. Cole could have done better with his lob, but really, we're looking at a goalkeeping error between the two sides.

Back three a big mistake formation wise. I really don't agree with 'matching' the opposition - JB used to have a bad habit of doing the same. We basically end up playing in a formation we're unfamiliar with against a team who are familiar in that shape.

The trouble with a back three is finding the balance between guarding space behind the wing backs, and not having the wing backs pinned in which leaves us very vulnerable to crosses and being stretched in midfield. Turner a little sloppy but we've been getting peppered with balls in which for me is a systemic issue as we don't know how to handle these potential weaknesses in a back three.

Been ok going forward, but not made the most of exploiting space behind their wing backs with Mellor and Hendrie generally being pretty isolated out wide. For me, a CB needs to go and Slew on, go 4-3-3 and get in behind them on the flanks. Phillips looks knackered - not surprising as he's started all three games so far and indicated he wasn't meant to be playing the first one if it hadn't been for Wildig's illness.

What ever Derek is trying, it isn't working. If we get possession in midfield we turn and pass back. Then we resort to a long ball over the top. We need to get back to playing to feet and get forward much faster. Let's go for it, put them on the back foot.
