I agree with this. Conlon isn’t a bad player but the left back position looked like our weak link last season so this is quite a rational signing. I’m sure we’ll also sign a right back and a couple of centre backs before the season starts.

Conlan does give the wide players too much room to cross. Looks like Derek has addressed that problem. I would love to see either Tanner or Cooney for right back. And be nice if we can sign Phillips for midfield

Burnley have offered both new contracts so the best we could hope for are loan deals.

...but Tanner is a free agent having been released by United. Unless there is a lot of money involved, I can't imagine him rushing to Salford City after not even making the bench with them. He'd be a cracking signing for me.
