Macclesfield have had their penalty reduced to 7 points with 3 of them suspended which means they move above us!

They still have 2 other charges to answer including the one where the players strike meant Plymouth was called off after they had travelled up.

You would think the least they would receive for that would be the 3 suspended points being deducted.

With the Euros being delayed a year, this gives all the leagues in Europe until at least late June to complete their outstanding Fixtures.
With us originally scheduled finishing at the end of April, it essentially adds two months on to the season. So if we don’t play another game until May, we still have eight weeks to play the remaining nine games, which is not out of the question.
Obviously, if the time scale of the virus peeking is, A) as has been already observed in China and B) is sufficiently under control and C) this time scale is acceptable to the home FA’s.

There are a lot of IFs, obviously, but cannot see any of our teams NOT wanting to complete it, other than perhaps Stevenage and maybe Bolton.

they’re talking of doing a 10 day tournament in Turkey or somewhere neutral to play out the Champions and Europa Leagues, obviously no 2nd leg to be played.

16 to 8 to 4 to 2 and Champions

a really bad scenario for Morecambe would be relegation(and promotion) play offs, they we’re talking about on the radio to conclude the EFL that would be squeaky bum time!

I can't see how that would work, did they explain? Every team that could potentially be promoted from one league & relegated from the league above in a play off? If they don't include every team, then the ones who miss out from the league below or are 'top inclusion' from the league above could make legal challenges. If they include all, then it becomes a league as big as finishing fixtures!

I think they'll look at forcing pubs to close and playing games behind closed doors. Sky are then happy and the Leagues are finished.

So how did that work out then?

Hard to see any football until July at earliest. They have just cancelled Glastonbury and that's at the end of June.

Declare 2019/20 void , and start 2020/2021 season early September. Hard luck Scousers but as Jonny Logan sang "What's Another Year"

Have to agree....

Hard luck on teams like Barrow and other promotion contenders throughout the leagues but other major sporting events will also have to cancel their plans as well.

Sport will no doubt take a major financial hit worldwide.

The authorities appear to be talking about the virus still being around in 4 months time as a minimum.

Looks as though I will have to self hibernate for the foreseeable future relying on my neighbours for food parcels etc.... ;)

Yes It will be around, but will be over the dreaded cusp where it’s still growing. It’s now on the serious wane in China, two months after it started.
Only reporting what I’ve just seen. If things don’t improve it won’t happen obviously.

they were talking about teams at the bottom with games in hand who could potentially leap frog teams above, so the idea is the bottom 4 or 8 teams go into a relegation play off.

IE. Morecambe, Stevenage, Macclesfield, Mansfield etc would go into one with Bury already relegated.

and same applies with teams with chance of promotion, so mid table teams then get excluded reducing fixtures.
