don’t mind a bit of Pink Floyd

So, so you think you can tell
Heaven from hell
Blue skies from pain
Can you tell a green field
From a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
Did they get you to trade
Your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
Did you exchange
A walk on part in the war
For a lead role in a cage?
How I wish, how I wish you were here
We're just two lost souls
Swimming in a fish bowl
Year after year
Running over the same old ground
And how we found
The same old fears
Wish you were here..

Got 2 seats for Jools, doors open 10am.
C2, D and family stand available. From the plan there is a standing area in front of the main stand.

The Globe could be the new "Woodstock"

Go on then, I will. Apart from Jules and Massive Wagons I'm completely underwhelmed!

Looks a well put together event by the guys, but I know a lot of people who just don’t find this sort of music attractive at all. I’m a bit underwhelmed with the genres but oh well, it’s not all about me!

Good to see concerts get going, hopefully the start of many more, am I dreaming that there is a football match on the Sunday?

Great to see the club doing something like this. But where is all the info? How much are the tickets? What’s included on the day? What else do you get for VIP ticket? (£130 by the way!). I hope they sell plenty but unless they actually tell people what is going on then I can see some of the days really struggling. Once again poor info from the club. I hope I’m wrong

Yep was hoping for some decent headline acts, jools is a great start but after that it flops a little, pigeon detectives have vanished from the scene really, massive wagons?? not sure about them,
I haven't seen any prices quoted yet,was thinking a weekend ticket maybe cheaper but now the acts are announced it will be a Friday ticket only

Agreed. Thinking of a couple of the hospitality tickets for the Friday but information on what this involves is sparse. Food, drink, reserved seats, location of the seats? Will bob into the club shop today and see if there is any more info' available.

I think some are not living in the real world. There will only be a certain amount of money to pay the various acts and that will quite rightly be reflected in the quality of those already booked.

Anybody expecting some internationally known acts needs to get real.

This is a superb venture by the club and we all hope it's a success. I'm sure all the details needed will be released in due course but to level criticism at the club already is simply not on...

I am sure i read that you can't buy tickets etc for the concert on match days. Just double check.

Thanks BW. Probably not going to buy today but like others I'm after a bit more info first. Once I get that info it is easy enough to book on line like I do for match tickets.

Pretty sure the hospitality/vip will have sold out yesterday for the Friday, the Club posted at 11am ish yesterday that 160 tickets had been sold.

The vip includes C Prem seats, welcome drink, access to the Local Choice and a buffet.

4pm to 10pm

I'd kind of expected the likes of Kim Wilde and other 'old' artists who are still touring. I've never head of the others that have been announced.

Perhaps see if The Heartbreaks could reform for the weekend! :D

Yes looks as though all the VIP tickets for Friday have gone so I've booked a couple of seats in the PMG and a room at the Taylors excellent Morecambe Hotel for me and my good lady for the night. Really hope we can still get entry to the Local Choice on the day/evening to purchase drinks etc'. Should be a great occasion and hopefully the rest of the weekend takes off as well as the Friday has!

I have downloaded a file called "pidgeon detectives greatest hits" and then burned it onto a disc, I put it on in the car today and there didn't appear to be any songs on it.......very odd.

Yes because you got the name wrong numpty! Try Pigeon detectives. To be fair they are well represented on You Tube , albeit a few years ago.

If I didn't know better I'd think you we're being you're usual self. The club are trying to put something on to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the club so full credit to them. Glastonbury it ain't, but we're working to a budget, so it is what it is! Simple enough if you don't like it it don't come! Go to the Turf Moor concert! best of luck with that one LOL.

Get a seat next to Red Alert. You should get on famously!!
