We just need to keep the good home form going and we should be ok

All the games are tough! I can't remember any game at this level ever being easy, guys are fighting for their livelihoods and give everything. To me the season is shaping up to two massive 6 pointers. Macc' and Stevenage, both at home. The first is Tuesday! Enough said, we need every man jack behind the team and possibly a slice of good fortune, but there's no getting away from it, this game is huge.

UTS.

What are our next 7 games so we can compare them ?

The only winner today was the weather but great team spirit to come back whilst playing into the wind,
Some around me couldn't see the equaliser coming but I said it would arrive and Alex duly obliged
Had Jordan hit that chance first time it would have been a win, A.J would have buried it.

Fine margins and another battle to be had Tuesday, Derek will know he got out of jail today but he will also know Stevenage haven't got a win in them and even single points picked up will be more than enough to scrape through.

No easy games in that lot and difficult to pick exactly, where points are coming from but you know they will and usually the most unexpected

Why did we not bring the new striker on at 1-0 down?

Why do we sometimes play Wildig on the wing when he is awful there?

We were asking exactly that question MC. The actual answer to that would be very interesting, to plenty(?) of supporters.

i prefer Kenyon over Wildig, Kenyon as the sitting midfielder.

we can’t hit a barn door, Stockton needs at least 8 chances to score one goal per minutes played

i wonder if Oats will be given chance under Derek? i seen him today, he was always worth a few goals from midfield, has a decent shot on him from long range.

He brought on the new defender to play right back , thus releasing Cooney to bomb down the right wing in place of O'Sullivan who doesn't have any real pace. But for poor finishing it would have seen us win and the tactic would have been vindicated.

“poor finishing,” numerous times before the substitution, was our problem again, as it has been in nearly all games. Maybe, the new lad could go some way to being our answer? Not from the bench he won’t.

When you have a Striker on the bench, would it not have been more beneficial to stick him up top with Cole and go for it?
We shall see what Tuesday holds??? but if repeated against Macc, who have far more to play for than Mansfield.........he will come unstuck and end up losing

the first substitute with a defender coming on was actually an attacking move by Derek, it allowed us to to then go 3 at the back with the full backs providing the width.

and we looked better for it.

The switch worked well. Slew went through the middle with Stockton and the attacking width came from the full backs. Gone are the days of chucking 4 strikers on in the last 5, there was a method to the subs yesterday and it oh so nearly paid off

Repeat.

Another important point though.

It was a really good point gained, he won't get away with it against Macclesfield,

Cole comes in for alot of criticism but his work rate, all alone, isn't sustainable over 90 minutes, Carlos also looked leggy, once again the Burnley lads were showing their pedigree.

The 2 Burnley lads are the difference!!!......if it wasn't for their input we would be down the bottom end of the table !!! :D

I thought Phillips had a poor game yesterday. Too many attempts at a flick or a trick when we really needed to get a foot on the ball. Cooney was rightfully names MOTM but a rejuvenated Steven Old must have been close. He has thrived under the new regime. He never lost a header yesterday, rock solid.

Yes , Derek has done well to spot these 2 players. IMHO Cooney is a better right back than Tanner although I wouldn't mind having Tanner at left back.

Bottom is still Top of Non league, every season of that has to be regarded as a successful one.

I thought Cole Stockton had a very good game, worked his socks off holding the ball up and laying off against a WWF wrestler posing as a CB.
the ref must have been his brother to let him get away with all the different holds he put on Stockton

From what I've seen, he always puts in a really good shift but most noticeable is how outnumbered he is, every game.
Problems upfront are starting to be shown in recent results.

What's going on.... :?: :?: :?:

I'm actually agreeing with ya....

Mansfield is one of those teams we tend to struggle with every time at home and yesterday was no different.

The game was the worst performance under DA and at the time I was baffled by his substitutes especially the introduction of Slew who was preferred rather than the new boy from Millwall.

BUT the end justified DA's actions so I shouldn't really complain but the game itself was horrible especially the first 45 from BOTH teams.

Best news of the afternoon was another defeat for Stevenage but the upcoming game v Macc will be difficult as they seem to get results despite their off field problems. Just hope that we can revert back to our pressure game that DA started with on his appointment but seems to have reverted more to a containment one especially in the first 45.

it’s as if Macclesfield are doing a Accrington Stanley by adopting a “siege mentality” a term used by Rod Taylor describing Stanley’s fighting spirit.

We went on a similar run when the staff weren't paid during the Lemos farce. Jim Bentleys finest hour as Morecambe manager.
