The current owners of the above have invested a further £2.5 million into their club to try and ensure promotion to EFL 1 this summer.

On the evidence of what we saw when we played them at The Globe they certainly need that investment if promotion is to be even a long long way away. :o

If only we had a 10th of that amount to invest in the squad it would be like a second coming of Christmas. :)

We can only dream of such money being made available for team rebuilding and even then nothing is guaranteed. :!: :!: :!:

They're even offloading their cast offs to a hard up club just 8 miles away

If true that's mind boggling! Got to be a bigger budget than most, if not all EFL 1 and probably quite a few Championship clubs.

That's 2.5 mill over the last 6 months not a new 2.5 mill. Bearing that in mind they still have a lot to do to get promoted this year.

They'll not be a Premier League club and my bet would be League 1 at best. Few owners keep throwing money away like that unless they are getting rapid results, which they have up to now but they'll grind to a halt.

Should this thread not be O/T?

I agree at the very best they might manage to do a Burton and have 1 year in the Prem but with their crowds I think they will be League 1 a bit like Fleetwood.

The investment is coming from a group of relatively young, very rich ex footballers, a vanity project which will undoubtedly run for quite a while and may even attract other heavyweight investors if one or two of them get bored, they won't ever make the premier league but the championship will be achievable.

Each ex player owns 10% in the club. Peter Lim owns the rest of the club so they already have a Billionaire on board.

Now 12 points off play offs. Not their turn this year!

I see that they are splashing the cash having just bought Bruno Andrade from Lincoln. I never like these “undisclosed fee” transfers. I would like to know exactly what teams in out league can afford
