A weird coincidence for sure.

Never before has SV inspired me to go rooting in my loft!! Chose not to use the google root to cheat but did some proper research using old footy annuals....

Was surprised to learn that his last game was NOT against Poland in Chorzow in a 0-2 loss which cost Alf Ramsey his job. I remember Bobby Moore getting caught in possesion for one of the goals. Nor did Moore play in the fateful 1-1 draw at Wembley in Oct 73 which sealed England's fate.

Instead he was recalled for a 108th cap in a seemingly meaningless friendly at Wembley on Nov 14th 1973, where the said foreigner scored the only goal.

Come the next game, in April74, Moore had lost his place to Derby's Colin Todd

No offence intended sir. It was an earlier poster who used the word cheat, but yes it's true, I had to get off my bottom, walk up the stairs, get the loft ladder down, then battle through the loft to a small chest wherin I knew that I would find a 74/75 Footy Annual that would answer the query....

Am I allowed to say yet that the opponents at Wembley on said occasion were Italy, and it was their combative midfielder who scored?
