But he was given a chance, in close season to get fit and lose weight and he hasn't. Time for Howard to have a chance methinks.

Clearly, you weren't at Saturday's game.

Exactly... I'm sure I can't have been the only one to see Mellor constantly getting in behind Howard. We were exposed down both flanks and if we're using two meaningless pre-season games at Barrow and Preston to determine is the better option at left back I'm still plumping (no pun intended) for Adams.

Sometimes I feel sorry for Danny.... people talk about Sammy having his favourites - christ almighty, the defensive nature of some people if even the slightest amount of critisism is aimed at any of their favourite players tedious, predictable and narrow minded. And as for the argument 'well, I didn't know I wasn't allowed an opinion', every one is entitled to a friggin' opinion, and it's my opinion that you are wrong. It's my opinion we're far better off having Adams. Is that allowed? Am I allowed to have an opinion on the matter? Good. Because at least I can see things objectively.

with another championship team down tonight , it will be interesting to see if there's any difference in the starting line up , it will gives us more of an idea on how strong our defence is.
i personally would say
Davies
Yates McStay Bentley (definates)
however not sure on left back as they are both consistent and have different qualities.
interested in seeing how parrish fairs aswell

okely-dockerly...

Can we stop the 'I'm not allowed an opinion' stuff and also stop the personally attacking people who happen to have a different opinion (on both sides!)

The point to be celebrated is that we clearly have a far better squad on the basis that we collectively have no idea what our strongest line up is, with arguments through out the team. As stated elsewhere, I think the most difficult position to choose for is midfield, where we have potentially the strongest midfield ever to represent the club?

But that's just my opinion...
“Britain faces a simple and inescapable choice - stability and strong Government with me, or chaos with Ed Miliband: ".

David Cameron. May 4th 2015.
So how did that work out then?

I think we had the left back discussion last year and it was quite interesting how split people were on whether it be Howard or Adams but Sammy made his decision and adams is the first choice left back at the club. I was more thinking about the centre back partnerships in the fact we have four centre backs now with Artell, McStay, Parrish and also Bentley. IMO Bentley and Artell as a partnership seems to work well and they seem to understand each other but with Sammy opting to bring somebody else in as well could it be the end for Artell and Bentley.
