That's assuming that PMg was prepared to sell to a former Director(s) at the time.... ;)

Nigel Adams, Graham Hodgson, Rod Taylor, Pete Cross? Is this the dream line up for you CC? Keeping a NPL team afloat is different to bank rolling a FL club with a 7 day a week operation. It would be nice to see the club back in the hands of people that care but like MPH says, they know that they will need deep pockets.

I think you are bang on Berliner, those were the names I was thinking, plus maybe a couple more who have a little more disposable income and have shown an interest in the past??
Dunno who they are mind, but if they do exist, it would at least give us local people in charge, but we may well still be in the same boat as now!!

I could see those names coming back but under a new owner (someone who they might know but not a former director). Like you said maybe PMG wouldn't sell last time but people might be put off now if the price has gone up.

Noticed in JB's bar yesterday evening Rod Taylor showing a couple around, looking at the photo's on the walls etc, I thought prospective new owners?? Then when they got closer it was former chairman Mr Eddie Weldrake and his missus!! :D

My comment was purely 'hoping' that they existed, not any type of inside information or anything.

The owners predict that we will be one of only four clubs to break even this year

If that comes true, it is an impressive position to be in. While I wouldn't want to see any other club following Bury, you do have to wonder how much easier League Two would be if all clubs were living within their means? If the rumours that two or three sides could go in to administration before the end of the season, we could end up safe due to others financial mismanagement.

Crewe Alex's major shareholder has sold all his shares to local investors and fans. Nobody will own more than 12.5%.

MPH is right in what he says about the town not supporting the club but the club has also let the town down. So many things went wrong after Wembley and they were never put right. Big decisions were made and proved wrong over time. Jim should never have had a contract extension as things became stale but then would we have survived the Lemos farce without Jim who dragged the club through those days?

The owners have lost interest, failed to deliver on what they said and are looking for a way out but they saved the club ultimately. I think it is time that they addressed the fans and let us know what their intentions are for the last 6 months of their 2 year plan.

BW, how much do we know about investment group's to know that they don't have the finance ? I think your last remark to be more accurate, they have realised they will not make money and are looking to offload. We cannot be far from the next fan's forum for the answers. We never know, they could have found someone to take over.
