Superb cross from Old which Sutton met with a fantastic header! :D

Was just typing that I didn't know where we was going to get a goal from and Sutton scored

Stockton for Oates. Another good move from us. Macc have had most of the play but we've had the chances (and a goal!)

Ellison on for Miller. Matty reckons the substitution is just to wind them up!

Great stuff!

Change of formation helped. We were better second half. Sutton, Old or Cranston for MotM. Matty gave it to Sutton for the goal but I would have given it to Old for the fantastic cross to Sutton. [Edit] and for both of them being terrific at the back too!

Well played in the second half, solid in the first.

Great substitutions! Like how Jim kept 2 Center Forwards on right till final whistle.

Much better set up than last Saturday.

Just need the strikers to score a few goals now

Exeter will be very tough game on Saturday though

Might be a bit controversial, and yes it is early doors, but so far for me, Stockton and Miller have been quite “ unconvincing.” ??????

They might start shining if Jim keeps with an attacking style and they get a run of games. We have 3 quality centre backs, trust them and be more attack minded. Great away following, over 250. Well done

Miller), I like him, he was unlucky tonight, he beat the keeper but not the post!

Stockton) I'm not convinced, but maybe that's me with seeing what Richie Bennett did for us last year, proper target man!

However I'd to see Miller & Stockton have a run out again against Exeter, to try and form a partnership.

It was great to watch the game from high up in the stand. We both played 3-5-2 yet we played Brewitt in front of defence and Alessandra and O’Sullivsn behind the strikers. Yet Macclesfield played two in front of defence and one behind their two forwards. This allowed them to push their wingers Clarke and the excellent Archibald forward. It meant Cranston and Buxton had to sit back, and we had to try and play it down the middle.

It didn’t work because Macclesfield’s young players, virtually all former non-league players were excellent, confident, quick and full of movement. They will be a very good side this season.

Yet the reason we won was down to Jim at half time. He pushed Buxton forward so Archibald swapped wings but Sutton ate him up. Alesssandra bar 10 minutes was poor and Tutte was much more effective. Brewitt grew into the game, his passing was solid and put he himself about (he’ll be a quality player for us). Lastly he took Stockton off, who was poor. Our game management after the goal was superb.

Their young players got frustrated but they’ll learn.

Awesome result.

Pleased to hear Brewitt get a mention from JB in his interview after the match. I think the lad is showing all the signs of being a “good un,” who will do very well for us over the season.

Just seen the goal on the highlights show and have to ask what where both Sutton and Old doing so high up the pitch? Was it as the result of an earlier free kick that saw them both venture into Maccs half or was it (as I prefer to think) that JB had instructed our lads to apply more pressure inside Maccs box?

Whatever the reason a much needed and somewhat unexpected first 3 pints of the new season.

Delighted... :D :D :D :D

Just need to see our strikers find the goalmouth now so we dont have to rely on the likes of sutton and Old coming forward . Good to see A.J back on the bench , hopefully he will back up to speed soon .
