We couldn't really... could we?

Sat 28th March Home to Luton Town currently 24th
Sat 04th April Away to Darlington currently 12th
Fri 10th April Home to Bradford City currently 8th
Mon 13th April Away to Macclesfield currently 19th
Sat 18th April Home to Notts County currently 16th
Tue 21st April Away to Rotherham currently 15th
Sat 25th April Away to Exeter City currently 6th

Sat 2nd May Home to Bournemouth currently 21st

Luton won't be an easy game but we have to be confident at home.
Darlington, lower than they should be due to administration but you wonder how they will continue to cope on the field. I could see us getting a win there if we go for it.
Bradford City. What can you say? Four defeats on the trot, they will need to come to us and attack but we are looking likely to play a team out of form.
Macclesfield. Nothing to play for by the time we meet them.
Notts County, dito
Rotherham dito. That's three games on the trot against teams who will have nothing to play for.
Exeter... could we actually get to two games away from the end of the season still chasing a play off place????
Bournmouth. Well, if we need points from this game and they don't it could make for an amazing end to the season. I still don't think we will make it, Chesterfield have games in hand and there are other teams above us who are better placed to take advantage of any slip ups but all the same... could we really?

So how did that work out then?

In short, no. I actually think we could remain unbeaten till the end of the season and still not make it.

I would have said yes if we'd have won today, a big 6 pointer, but then if we can win the six pointers against Bradford, and potentially Exeter, then we could well be in the mix.

I would say no, but we've got a better shout than many.

Another fantastic result today but i think the play offs might just be out of reach but who knows - i think to reach the play offs we need to take 18 from last 24 but if we can get top ten finish it will be a fantastic achievement by everyone connected with our great football club

Who knows? Just over a week ago Man Utd had the premiership wrapped up. It's not likely but let's see what happens.

If anyone's interested in spread betting on sporting index before todays game you could buy Morecambe's end of season points at 63 and sell at 61, so they were predicting we'd only end up with 62 points. Think i might be buying points when the market re-opens if that hasnt changed too much.

Imo if we had started off the season with the team we should have, instead of all that falling out with the players and management at the begining of the season. I think we would be in a playoff place at the moment.

the thing is we are drawing to many games. and the old saying is you win nothing with draws.

We will need to win a fair few to be in with a shout of that 7th place.

But going through these teams and their recent form etc, only Exeter stand out as being a strong threat (even then, we have a decent chance). There is no reason why we can't win most of these games. We have a much better chance than I thought.
