Just been on the radio and is delighted and so pleased with the current form but we are still learning. New spirit in the camp, but need to improve to get to the next level.

Drummy was superb as well as everybody. In particular Arts who had his best game for the club. Jimbo played after 2 injections.

IMO since we strated playing with a settled team and all the problems with yates, Drummound and Stanners have been sorted we seem to have got back the spirit which we had last season.

The first part of the season that team spirit which had brought us so far just didn't seem to be there and we seemed to be disjointed but we seem to have got back to how it used to be and the good run seems to have started around that time to.

I know of at least one regular older fart like me who would say that since Hunter started to play on a regular basis that things have improved dramatically.

I know of at least one regular older fart like me who would say that since Hunter started to play on a regular basis that things have improved dramatically.

Hunter can tackle. Stanners can't.

Drummond can play an incisive through ball. Stanners can't.

Whilst Stanley can play impressive looking long-ball passes they are invariably sideways. Nice on the eyes but in reality not as effective as through balls or as crucial as tackling. Centre midfielders have to be able to compliment each other properly and Stanley, in that respect, isn't as valuable as Hunter or Drummond. Drummy aint getting any younger though and we have seen on occasions this season that his legs desert him before the 90 minutes are up. Stanley could be the ideal long-term replacement for Drummy but I think his game must improve. Perhaps if Drummond was Stanley's mentor; as Brian Healy once was to Drummy himself?

How about a word for the fans - good turn out at the Shrews and never stopped singing all the way through the game. At the end we all stood up and sang 'we are invicible/unbeatable' as one and it felt bloody good.

Defensively that was the best i've seen us play and Artell worth a MoM in my opinion. Drummond not far behind.

Confidence high and i think we've learned so much in the last twelve months as a club.

We're safe now so can play without fear for the rest of the season and the fans can also enjoy the run in too. A good time to be a Morecambe fan so get down to Crusty Pie.

Stanley is our best midfielder FACT.

Our season turned around after Stanners was reinstated in midfield after the first 4 or 5 games of the season.

How many goals have we scored from Stanners dead ball kicks and corners ? answer lots.

Also Stanners has scored 5 goals this season in the league.

He also played in the first 3 games of the current run including a starring role in the win over Brentford which IMHO was a major factor in our current run.

When next season starts it is a case of who joins him in midfield.

Taylor is still young and I don't think we will get Rene in the summer we need someone who can score goals but also has experience

Absolutely agree with all that Bryan. The team were excellent, loads and loads of determination and never-say-die spirit. The fans were tremendous, EVERYBODY singing (including me and the missus) and the 'we are invincible' felt absolutely right at the end. It was brilliant to see Sammy, Mark and all of the players giving us a clap too, and watching Lillis thump his heart and badge said it all.

Stanners played a stormer against Lincoln away and scored a goal there which meant so much to him. We have missed his power, but we have very able and worthy replacements. We have a great team spirit, and our midfield and defence were absolutely top drawer against Shrewsbury. Nothing desperate or lucky, we were simply the best and controlled good attacking outfit.

We may not make the play-offs, but don't be surprised if the Bournemouth game is packed to the rafters because we just might nick it on the final day of the season.

I think it's just coincidental to be honest. We've just been really 'together' and I think we would have with Stanners in there as well. Both good, honest, hard working midfielders who contribute well when involved.
