It is not known how much money Leeds missed out on, but one newspaper report estimates it could be around £500,000.

Its no laughing matter thats a lot of money to a struggling small League 1 club ;)

The point I was making is that in essence isnt it now a different company?

How can they pursue a debt of a different company? Even if they can, should it not go in full to creditors that lost out?

It's not as straightforward as that. In order to continue trading and playing football the new company picks up assets of the old company. They might also take on some of the debt. I'm fairly sure the directors of the old company could take this legal action because it's attempting to recover their debts caused by the transfer and relegation issues.

sheffield utd were given a final payout in excess of £25 million
any further claims should come out of that.....case closed....

at the end of the day it all was about the last game of the season...they only had to beat Wigan....where West Ham had the daunting task of getting a result against Man utd.... West ham got the job done...sheffield did`nt end of story....sore losers, dummy spat out and teddy thrown firmly across the room......my heart bleeds for them
