O/T Internet connection

I have my Interent connection set to 'Dial whenever a network connection is not present' and up until I installed Norton 360 the connection time wasn't exactly quick but now it's as slow as a snail.

Anybody else experienced similar problems after installing Norton 360 or is just purely a coincidence?

Norton's a complete and utter nightmare and will slow the machine considerably. There are plenty better than Norton, and most of them free too.

I use Norton Internet Security 2009, which is a huge improvement over previous versions, particularly in terms of speed and working in the background and so don't suffer any slow running. I don't see the need for all the features of Norton 360 which I understand is renowned for slowing systems down. NIS2009 suits me fine.
