In my humble opinion big baz as got to be one of the best keepers in league two and would not look out of place at an higher level - two of the saves he pulled off last night were immense - keep it going baz.....he must also be streets ahead in our player of the year

IMHO Barry Roche is on a par with Joe Lewis now.

I think that was our 9th clean sheet in the league this season and the 3rd in a row.

we were talking a bit about this in the chat room last night. I think if faced with an oppertunity to permenantly sign Joe or Barry right now, I would go for Joe, purely on age. For actual quality at the moment, there is very little in it between them. PotY? Definately in my opinion.

Three clean sheets on the trot, more to the point, four clean sheets in the last five games... And four in our first thirty-three matches! Great effort from the lads at the back and Barry, long may it continue!

For the full all round keeper I would still go for Joe by a long way on the basis of comanding his area been better on crosses and distribution, Roche is a good kicker but I think Joe was always a bit more aware and looked for more options when starting the play off.

However Roche's shot stopping is getting better and better by the week and I would even say better than Joe which is amazing considering some of the saves he made for us.

Barry Roche for me is a better keeper than Joe Lewis
and for me player of the season candidate
getting better and better each game
last two games hes had nowt to do first half
then in the second he pulls off some fantastic saves
his concentration level must be immense
top bloke...............

I keep finding myself agreeing more and more with Shrimpsscene.
Must be my age.
From what I've heard on Morecambe World Big Bad Baz has been amazing.
You can see he spreads confidence throughout the whole team.
Exactly what a keeper should do.

Doubt his form will have gone unnoticed by bigger clubs than us. Hope we can hold onto him over the summer.

Barry Roche is now a more reliable keeper on current form than Joe is at 'Boro.

Definately PoY for me.

My confidence in Big Baz has soared since early season. When I see an oppo forward racing into the area after a loose ball I now feel confident that Roche will get out there and block it.

Last night our defence was superb. Great last ditch defending when under the cosh, and Bury were coshing us pretty hard for much of the second half. When it looked like we coudln't hold out any longer - well, we just did - and that spirit is flooding right through the team.

Lewis certainly looked more lively than Roche, but I doubt he was much better, just younger.

Looks like one of our cast offs is on the up as well

Good luck to him anyway, he deservedly I.M.O., took some stick here and Barry got it at Chesterfield.
How things change eh? :D

Bet his kicking's still sh**e though !

I still think its a shame Stephen Drench's carear has totally gone down the pan since that famous injury in the play-offs
