Downloading films onto an Mp4

Downloading films onto an Mp4

Postby shrimper » Mon Jul 21, 2008 3:55 pm

I suppose this is illegal and no-one should ever do it but I know someone who once did it and he was able to watch some great films while on holiday (on his Creative Zen).
He wasn't very good at this sort of thing so a mate put a few onto a disk in a format that made it very easy.
He's wanting to do it again and I want to, erm, give him some advice as to, erm why he shouldn't be doing it and, erm that sort of thing.

If anyone knows about this kind of stuff can they PM me please.
Is the glass half full or half empty? Mmmm? hard to say - but it does look like there's room for more beer!

Saving copies of your own films (that you have bought) into a different format is one of those technical illegalities that no one has ever been done for nor ever likely to be done for.

What format are the original films? What do they need converting to?

Converting them and handing the conversions out, that's naughty.

erm...I tried to upoload the Wembley experience onto my Samsung mp thingy for my holidays. Thought it would have been great to releave the boredom of a 3 hour flight but didn't have a clue what I was doing ...so....no Wembley on my hols.

If an e-mail accidently comes my way telling me what i should have done....but obviously will not do.......great!
Heroes get mentioned but Legends never die.

If I was doing it I might google for DVD RIP FREEWARE. Like I said, you won't be done for converting videos you own for your own use.

ive been trying to do something similar, I want to uload a few films Ive made onto my phone which has an 8gb memory and uses real player. The major problem I can't seem to get my head around is converting MPEG files into MP4 files. My phone will only play MP4 files and I don't have a clue how to convert them!!

Go to Google - type in "convert mpeg to mp4" and a butt load of options will appear. You should be able to find something to download that is free but as I use a Mac I couldn't recommend anything specific for you. No doubt Phoenix will know...
