IMO I've always thought fixed penalty fines have at least one major flaw, ability to pay.
Point in case, what does losing £80 mean to Ashley Cole? sweet Football Association!
To be fair, the negative publicity in the media will give him more of a problem, then again, some will, as the original post suggests, just see him as more of a "lad", probably boosting his earning potential further with certain gentlemens periodicals. As for his wife, who cares?!
